I was sitting in spanish, and the guy that sits next to me asked me if he should start meditating. I told him no. He asked me the usual, "Why not?" So I bedazzled him with my awkwardness. More specific 7th grade and church mediating.
In 7th grade church class, the lady who was running it. Decided that 7th graders need to learn that meditation was a form of prayer. So she made all the kids in my grade, form a circle with chairs and hold hands, while closing our eyes, thinking of nothing at all.
The next week we would have to stay the same, except listen to her tell a story about climbing a mountain, and at the end of the story ask us what we saw and discuss it. Pretty horrible stuff, right?
We continued the silent meditation for the rest of the year, on every church class. Otherwise known as every two weeks.
Dazed, my spanish partner was now enthused for not going to meditate.
Author's notes: My awkward moments pop in my mind when someone mentions a word or situation. So please comment on something, that you want me to write about.
