Alissa's POV

I was sitting on the couch in the garden while watching Marcus and my nephew, Ethan chasing each other happily. Then Marcus caught him and swirled Ethan around. Ethan giggled. I smiled, amused. Marcus got along well with kids. Maybe it was because of that he was still like a child.

"He is gorgeous, isn't he?" Elise commented as she approached me and winked at me, amused.

"Yes, he is." I smiled shyly, looking at Marcus.

Elise gave me a knowing grin and sat down on the couch.

"Hey, what are you talking about?" Chad asked as he approached us and sat down beside Elise on the couch. He wrapped his arms around Elise's shoulder and placed a quick kiss on her lips.

"About Marcus. He is a nice guy." Elise replied, giving him a bright smile.

He frowned. "He is just trying to ingratiate himself with us." Chad said nonchalantly.

"Chad!" Elise warned him as she rolled her eyes.

"What? There is something shady about this guy. I feel it. He keeps something from us. I don't know what it is right now, but I will find out." Chad stated. "He looks too perfect to be true." He added as he looked at Marcus who was still playing with Ethan.

"Are you jealous?" Elise asked, grinning.

"Hell no! Why should I be jealous?" He scowled childishly.

Elise looked at him, unconvinced and gave him a sly grin. He rolled his eyes.

I smiled at them, shaking my head, amused. They looked so cute while teasing each other. As much as they teased each other, they were so in love with each other. They were a match made in heaven.

"Why is he staying here this long? Shouldn't he go back to his work? He must have plenty of work at their family company. If he has a family company as he said. He is here almost two months. He does nothing, just kill time." He stated firmly.

"He is on vacation. His father runs their company. So he doesn't work so much there." I said, but Chad's words made me slightly suspicious.

"Yeah, he must be so tired if he goes on holiday for two months." Chad commented sarcastically.

"Auntie!" Ethan called me, interrupting my thoughts as he ran towards me cheerfully. "Auntie, I like Marcus. He is so funny." He added, excited.

I smiled as I put him on my lap and stroked his blond hair gently. Marcus gave me his charming smile as he approached us.

"Will you get married and have babies?" Ethan asked innocently, looking at me.

"Umm..." I mumbled as my cheeks turned crimson red. I bit my lower lip shyly and looked at Marcus. He gave a warm smile while looking at me affectionately.

Chad cleared his throat and stood up.

"Ethan, come here. Let's look if your sister woke up or not." Chad said and took Ethan in his arms.

"OK. But if she isn't awake, may I wake her up? She sleeps so much. She just eats, sleeps, eats, sleeps. She is boring." Ethan pouted as he crossed his arms over his chest.

We burst out laughing. He looked so cute when he was grumpy. I shook my head, amused. He really looked like Chad so much. But when he was grumpy, he looked like Chad more. He furrowed his eyebrows with the same expression like Chad did every time when he was grumpy. Like father, like son.

"Because she is so little. When she grows up, she will not sleep this much, and both of you can play as much as you want." Chad said softly and kissed Ethan's cheek.

"OK, but when will she grow up? I want to play with her." Ethan pouted.

"Soon, my little boy." He kissed Ethan's forehead and carried him inside.

I smiled at them. They looked so cute together. Chad was so patient with Ethan. He always answered all of his questions with patience. I knew how hard it was because Ethan was such a curious and smart boy, and he asked a lot of questions about everything he saw, trying to learn new things eagerly. It was normal for his age, but Chad's calmness really made me surprised. Because Chad wasn't a calm and patient person at all. He was hot-tempered. A real troublemaker. But his relationship with Ethan was so different, and they were so close and got along with each other very well. It was understandable considering how much they looked like each other as appearance and character.

Marcus gave me a warm smile and sat down beside me on the couch. I smiled at him and leaned against Marcus as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"How long will you stay in New York?" Elise asked him.

"Umm..." Marcus took a sip from his water and entwined his hands as he placed the glass on the centre table.

I bit my lower lip nervously and looked at Marcus, waiting for his answer. A tight knot formed in my throat. Every time I thought that one day he would go back to his country made me get sad. I didn't know what would happen between us when he went back.

"In a month." He replied. I looked down as sadness crossed my features. "But maybe I..." He paused and held my hand. "I will stay longer." He added, giving me a smile. I beamed at him happily.

Elise nodded, smiling and winked at me while Marcus was looking at me. I bit my lower lip, blushing.

After saying goodbye to Chad and Elise, we got in Marcus's car. Once he started the car, he held my hand and placed them together on his thigh. I gave him a bright smile and squeezed his hand tightly.

Suddenly, his phone rang. He pulled the car over and picked up his phone. He started talking in a foreign language. I didn't identify which language it was. But it seemed he was fluent.

"Which language is it? Swedish?" I asked curiously as he hung up.

"Norwegian." He replied, giving me a charming smile.

"Oh. Which languages do you know?" I asked.

"Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, French, Spanish and a little Italian and Portuguese." He informed.

"Wow! Impressive!" I exclaimed, amazed. "I never thought that you could speak in these many languages." I confessed.

"Why? You think I am not smart?!" He grinned.

"No...I...just...You don't look like someone who spends so much time studying." I admitted and shrugged my shoulders.

"It will surprise you, bambi, but I was so good at my subjects in school as well as at university." He gave me a devilish grin and winked at me.

"Hmm. A bad boy as well as a nerd." I teased him.

"No! I was never a nerd." He shook his head. "Yes, I studied well, but I was never a nerd. On the contrary, I was so popular in college and university. Good grades were a bonus." He added arrogantly and winked at me.

"Hmm...Is there something more I need to know about you? Secret superpowers? Like flying...umm...mind reading and so on." I asked, giving him a mischievous grin.

He gave me a devilish smirk and leaned closer to me. "Let me show you." He said huskily and started kissing my neck.

"Marcus." I grinned sheepishly.
