Chapter 2- Alien Time

~Jessica's POV~

Place: Dark alley

•

Mission: Find out what was that thing doing there

•

A fucking alien.

Out of all things we find on this boring night, an alien is the thing we happen to see?

"Are you affirmative, it's fine to had this thing over to us, instead of keeping it with NASA?" A gruff voice calls out.

"I dunno. But the thing looks certainly weird. I don't think NASA would like to keep something ugly like this." Another younger voice adds.

"Ugh, fine. Let's just hurry up and get it in the van before anyone sees." The gruffy one said.

We were still standing there, our mouths agape, and still staring at the scene unrolling.

"Hey! You two! This is prohibited property!"

I looked around, seeing who he was talking to. I then realized he was talking to us.

The two came closer, as we backed away slowly, thinking of ways to get ourselves out of this.

"I'm sorry, what?" Amber had the nerves to speak up.

"Prohibited property." The young one pointed to a sign that said, 'TSAFA'. I studied the sign carefully. I then realized that we were on my parents' work place.

The government. And now, we are certainly in, as Amber would call it, 'deep doodoo'.

Not that I was gonna lie, the young one was actually stronger looking than gruffy.

As the coward I was, I stared at the sign too long, and left Amber to bicker with gruffy.

"Hello there," youngling said to me, eyeing me pervertedly.

Ugh, gross.

"Uh, hi." I said awkwardly.

"Why don't I take a lovely thing like you home, and I can convince Vince over there," he said nodding his head at gruffy's direction, "to let you two off the hook. Heck, maybe your blonde friend over there would like to join us?" He smirked. His breath reeked with alcohol.

"Um, no thanks. But if you mind asking.. What the fucking god is that? My parents never mentioned anything about an alien being discovered. And they tell me everything that happens here. Everything." I put my hands on my hips for effect.

But, I think this dude only listened to when I said no. "No? Fine then. We're gonna have to put a punishment for you two."

"Did you not just hear me? My parents work here. Hell, my dad is the assistant manager of the technicians society, and my mom is the head of the agency."

"Cool. We don't care kid. Just to make it easy for a pretty chick like you, why not just take away your superstar parents, only yours it seems, as both of your punishments."

"As my friend said before, I'm sorry, what?!"

"Fine then, if you don't listen, we'll have nothing else to do, but kill you, and her for what you've seen."

I had no response. "Okay, we'll give you ten minutes to decide which you want." He left me alone, and went to go talk to gruffy about what just happened.

"What.Are.We.Gonna.Decide?" A clearly frustrated blonde startled me.

"We either have to choose. To have my parents taken away, or kill us two," I sighed.

"Well, I don't know what to choose. How about you? You know?"

"Not a clue."

"Oh! I know! How about we play Eenie Meenie Minnie Mo? To see which one gets to be our punishment?"

"That's stupid, but fine."

After a long game, we finally got the choice of having our parents taken away.

"Ugh, I hate doing this."

"I know. We both love my parents."

"What? No I meant going back to that gruffy dude! He's a freaking maniac."

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, lets just get this over with. Hey gruffy, youngling! We made up our minds!"

They approached us slowly. "Alright, what? We're on a tight schedule here." Gruffy said.

Ugh. He is a maniac. He's pointing to his wrist, pretending there's a watch.

"We choose," I sigh, "to have my parents taken away."

"Alrighty then. None of this happened, an I clear?"

"Yes sir,"

"Alright, goodnight ladies."

"Goodnight? Um, kay goodnight to you too, I guess."

I sighed again, as we headed home.

For a moment I completely forgot about my dad, and the whole, Vanessa thing.

As soon as we got home, I ignored all my dad's attempts to apologize, and I went to join Amber at our movie night.

"Mom?"

"Mr. Montgomery?"

I looked at my best friend. She did not just say my dad's last name.

"Really?"

"Yeah! I'm as scared as you are!"

"Really?"

"Alright say what you want, but your last name sounds cool."

"Wow."

"Yeah."

"Okay, anyways, I think that scene, yesterday has already happened."

"What scene?"

This girl is unbelievable.

"The alien/having my parents taken away, doesn't ring a bell?"

"No-oh wait, yeah! I remember now!" I facepalm.

"How did I manage to understand you all these years?"

"I don't know. That's still a mystery to me."
