Wonwoo woke up that morning with a long exasperated sigh, once again he had another night of little to no sleep - something that was becoming far too common. Wonwoo had struggled with his sleep for at least a good couple of years, but never usually to this extent. He was hardly getting two hours of rested sleep a night and his body was dealing with the affects.
His appetite was shot cause all he wanted to do was sleep. Standing and any form of movement made his joints ache in complaint. Today was apparently going to be no different as Wonwoo could feel his body tense up the moment he sat up in his bed, a hand reaching out to the bedside table in order to pick up his glasses and slide them on top of his nose - his eyes now able to focus.
After slipping his feet into his slippers, he approached his en-suite with stiff joints, opening up the door and turning on the shower. He stood beneath the hot water as it trickled over every inch of his body soothing away at least some of the tension his body felt.
He began to wash his hair and his body and whilst he watched the soap water flow down his skin and swirl away down the drain, his gaze fell to his arms - more specifically his left arm. His pale skin was decorated with varying sized scars from his wrist to the crease of his elbow. Some of the scars were still a soft pink in colour - others a deep red, whilst the oldest ones were pure white indicating their age.
Wonwoo's expression gave nothing away as he looked at the marks he'd left on himself - a harsh reminder of how the past three years had taken its toll on him. But that was something he'd never so easily admit to.
Letting out a sigh, Wonwoo turned off the shower and made his way back into his bedroom, putting on a plain white t-shirt and his thick wrist watch, along with a variety of other bangles and man bracelets which covered a large portion of his scars. Finally he put on his navy blue hoodie and a pair of denim jeans before stepping out of his room to head to the kitchen.Mingyu looked up from where he was sat around the kitchen-island on one of the stools - his gaze taken away from his phone as he looked at Wonwoo who had just entered into the room. Wonwoo didn't even bother looking at Mingyu as he made his way to the fridge, opening it up to take out a couple of yoghurt pots before moving to a fruit bowl and getting out an apple.
Mingyu continued to watch Wonwoo in silence, watching the way Wonwoo cleaned the apple and cut it into pieces, before adding them to a bowl. Once finished with that he then opened the yoghurt pots into the bowl as well before mixing the yoghurt and apple together. He kept his back to Mingyu all the while as he reached for a fork from the cutlery draw and began eating.
Mingyu let out a scoff and rolled his eyes, resting his head against his hand as he looked back down to his phone - both his elbows resting on the marble worktop. "You can sit down you know? Don't be so melodramatic."
Wonwoo noticeably tensed and turned his frame just a little so he was looking down at Mingyu with a cold expression, "Don't talk to me."
Mingyu raised an eyebrow and looked back up at Wonwoo's face, both of them silent for a moment until Mingyu huffed and looked back at his phone instead, finding more interest in the social media he was scrolling through.
After a little while though, Mingyu found himself glancing back up at Wonwoo with curiousity. The older male was busy eating with his back resting against the kitchen counter - still not sitting down. He seemed to be in his own little world though, regardless. That's when Mingyu decided to truly look over the older male. Soonyoung had been right, Wonwoo did look exceptionally pale with his bare face. Wonwoo was naturally pale, but the state of him right now made him look, ill...
Lowering his gaze, Mingyu noted the way Wonwoo's jeans were still fitting rather loosely despite the belt attempting to hold them up in place. So he really had lost a bit more weight?...
