Matt/Lucifer
Fluff
Male/Male
Chapter named after a song that made me think of them

~~

His hands were running through the soft and thick fur of the dog right next to him.
Lucifers head was placed on one of the armrests of the - honestly quite small - sofa in the dark living room.
He didn't bother turning on the light; it wasn't important right now.

His ice blue eyes were empty and he seemed to stare into a void, just lying lying there, next to the dog.
If the light would have been turned on, it would have been visible that his eyes glistened.
The fallen angel was close to tears.
"Don't cry, Lucifer, don't cry ..." the angel whispered to himself, his hands still stroking the light brown fur of the quiet dog next to him.
"Hey, Kibou", the dog looked up when he heard his name and looked at the young man next to him, "guess who was dumb enough to fall for your owner."
When he let out the forced and almost helpless laugh, after he finished the sentence, he heard his own voice crack. "And now I sound like I am 14, I guess ..."
He sighed and burried his face in the light brown, soft fur of the chow chow; not caring if he could still breathe. Right now he just didn't want the tears to stream down his face. Also ge didn't even need to breathe anyways.

The light haired archangel stayed like this, hugging the dog and silently letting the tears stream down his face and onto Kibous fur, for quite a while until he suddenly heard a familiar sound.
Keys.
Someone opened the door.
His heart started to beat faster.
No! I can't let him see me like this!
Quickly, Lucifer raised his head, brushed over his cheeks with one arm and then over the dogs fur; letting the tears dry instantly.
Matt shouldn't find out that he cried. Especially not over him.
He should be happy for him.
He shouldn't feel as horrible as he did.

"Lucifer??"
He heard the sound of the light switch and suddenly it was bright around him.
Instead of focusing on the confusion and surprise in the other mans voice, he groaned and held one arm in front of his eyes; trying to keep them save from the sudden brightness.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
Really? Did you really forget about that? ...
He felt a sharp stitch in his chest area. Did he really forget about it ...?

Instead of answering he just groaned 'too bright', hoping to get at least some time, hoping that he would remember it himself.
There was the sound of the switch again, followed by darkness again as well as the sound of someone chuckling.
"The light bringer wants me to turn off the lights again, because it is too bright ... How ironic."
Usually Lucifer would grin and would surely throw a pillow at the young adult or at least try to hide his grin, but instead of doing something even close to that, he just dropped his arm again and placed his head on the armrest again, not looking into Matts direction.
"Hm."
This sound was followed by some seconds of silence that passed painfully slow in the blond ones opinion.
But suddenly he felt the sofa tilt a bit and he knew he was sitting next to him now. Somehow Lucifer didn't hear him put away his jacket and shoes.

The next thing he felt was one hand on his shoulder.
"Lucifer ...?"
The worry in Matts soft voice made him feel guilty, so he decided to look up again, into his direction.
It was still enough light from one of the lamps outside of the apartment, which light was shining through the window; letting Lucifer look at the human next to him.
"Hmh?" He nodded, to make it more obvious that he was listening. He could tell that he wanted to say - or more like ask - something.
And he was right: "Are you alright?"
"Totally." He said that a bit too fast and noticed that mistake himself, but it was already too late to take it back.
Carefully the grip of the brow haired ones hand got stronger and he pulled Lucifer closer to him carefully.
The fallen angel didn't try to stop him from it.
He knew what was about to happen and, honestly, that was something he definitely wanted right now.
