yoongi and his mother were in a clothing store, selecting new clothes for the little one. while they were strolling their cart, yoongi saw a rack of accessories for both girls and boys. yoongi's eyes glittered in the light as he asked his mother for a bracelet. "okay, but don't get too much," yoongi's mother said while showing off her gummy smile.
yoongi looked around the rack, looking for a pretty bracelet that he can get for him and his friend. the one that caught yoongi's eyes were ones that had a moon and a sun, connected to show friendship. yoongi picked two of them up from the rack and ran back to his mother.
"why do you have two of the exact same?" the mother asked with a confused expression on her face. "can't you just have one?"
"i want one for hobi. it won't be fair if i'm the only one with a bracelet," yoongi reasoned.
that response still didn't satisfy the mother's questions, "who's hobi?"
"he's my friend! he's right here!" yoongi pointed to the empty space beside him. the mother looked around to try to find a boy around yoongi's age without an adult but she couldn't find one. "no, mom! right here!" yoongi pointed.
"yeah i hear you sweetie but i don't see anyone there," the mother looked at yoongi in the eyes.
"what do you mean? hobi, say hi!"
after three seconds of complete silence, "there! he said hello! are you happy?"
"yoongi honey, there's no one there."
"he is here! look! he's right here!" yoongi exaggerated his pointed and by now used both his arms to wave at an empty space. the mother knew that yoongi was a young boy that was starting to get imaginary friends. once she knew what was happening, she smiled, "ohh, i see him now! he's really cute, honey."
"no, mom, that's weird!"
"oh come on. he's adorable! his hair is lovely too," the mother pretended to brush the invisible boy's hair. yoongi was a little grumpy that he did that so the mother stopped. she wheeled the cart to the cash cressister to pay for the things she got. even the stuff for hobi.
"thank you, momma! hobi loves his new bracelet!" yoongi yelled from the back seat. the mother can only smile with the real boy, as she saw the bracelet on the empty seat next to the real boy. the mother did not worry at all for her son, but after years of the same thing, she was starting to grow fear.
"joonie, hobi wants to play with us!" yoongi pointed to the empty space right beside the wall. namjoon was confused at first but then he played along, "come on, hobi!"
yoongi was finally happy to have someone that didn't question his best friend.
namjoon was a big part of yoongi's life. he was always there for him when he needed him. when he was down, namjoon would try his very hardest to cheer him up again, even if it took the whole day. they were only five and four years old but who says that children can't have emotions?
after a long day of playing, yoongi and hobi waved namjoon goodbye and went straight to their bedroom. they hopped into their shared room and started dozing off. that was how their rest of their lives were going to be, yoongi hoped.
