I'll Run With the Wolves

12 3 2

The graceful canines.

They howl,

They call my name.

They call me back to the place I once came from.

The inconsiderate, evil humans.

They tell me not to run with the animals.

They tell me to kill them,

To hurt them.

But I would never desert them,

Or hurt them,

Or ruin their lives.

I can never leave my friends behind.

Their howls,

The tenderness in them...

All the howls call me back to the wilderness;

The place where I belong.

Inconsiderate humans.

They push me and I push back.

I push back and they cry out "evil!"

The evil one is the one who pushes first.

Guess who that is?

Humans.

Graceful wolves.

They're graceful by heart,

By nature,

Oh, how beautiful.

The wolves call me with their tender howls.

I run into the wild, never too be found.

My, my, not even one of my past lovers could handle me.

I was too wild and courageous;

He never accepted me.

I was depressed,

Yes,

But that didn't stop me.

I run to the wolves and their howls, can't you see?

I was made to be free,

The wolves accepted me.

I belong in the pack where my heart can be free!

Go,

Chase me down,

Try to kill me.

But you'll never catch up to the speed of this wolf.

I may look human,

But to me;

My heart and soul are a wolf.

I will run through the light,

Through the shadows and darkness.

All to get to my pack.

I will run with the pack...

I will run with the wolves.
