Author's note: This is only half of one au. The au itself doesn't have a name, but the two routes it has do. My friend is writing for the Lost Hope route while I have taken on the task of doing Insanity. These two are the first au I've done for this fandom, and they are my babies! Well anyway, on with the show!

Sammy was stressed. Well, that was an understatement. He was beyond stressed. They were closing in on a deadline, and they were much farther behind than Sammy would like. Preferably, they wouldn't be behind at all, but Joey's scheduling was insufferable at best right now. To top everything off, Sammy was dealing  with a new voice actress. He believed her name was...Allison Pendle! That's right Allison. Of course, Sammy has never met her before. He doesn't even know her range. He doubted she could even hit the same notes...Susie...could. Sammy sighed. Allison had been brought in to replace Susie. Joey's decision not his. He put up as much of a fight as he could about it, but once Joey Drew decides to do something it, it gets done. He heard the band room door open. Sammy turned around to find a slender woman  with long black hair pulled into a ponytail behind standing behind him. She smiled at him. Sammy maintained a neutral expression.

"Allison Pendle, I presume?" He asked.

Her face lit up with recognition. Yep. She wouldn't last a week.

" Uh yeah," she said nervously, "You must be Sa-"
"Sammy Lawrence, the music director.

She frowned a little. Apparently, she didn't get the memo the that Sammy wasn't exactly...friendly. He wasn't exactly in the mood to deal with a 'little ray of sunshine' either. He rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Before we start any recording,I want you to read some lines in your Alice voice. I want to know what I've got to work with."

Allison was a little taken back by his hostility, but read nonetheless. She was good enough in Sammy's book. Not as good as Susie, but passable. She got to Alice's song "Lonely Angel/I'll be Your Angel" when the door opened again. He heard a familiar voice.

"Sorry I'm late Sammy! You wouldn't believe the traffic- who's this?"

Sammy turned his head to see Susie Campbell standing in the doorway. His heart skipped a beat. His face grew red. It always did when she was talking to him.  He tried to explain but got tongue tied as usual.

"Susie this is- well you see-."

That was all he could get out  before Allison interrupted him.

" I'm Allison Pendle; the new voice actress for Alice. It's nice to meet you."

A confused look flashed across Susie's face. She looked up at Sammy.

"Sammy if this is some kind of prank it's not funny."

The musician was confused. He wasn't the type to pull pranks, without a reason anyway. Besides, she not get the memo?

"Did Joey not tell you?" he asked.

"Tell me what?"

He froze. She didn't know. Joey didn't tell her she got replaced. Of course, he was going to make him do the dirty work! This was going to break Susie's heart! He hated himself for just thinking about having to do this to her. He took Susie by the hand. An odd move for him. Sammy hated physical  contact except from three people. He gulped.

"Look Thu-Susie," He said nervously, lisp becoming apparent, " I...I don't know how to tell you thith-this, but you're not Alithe'th- Alice's voithe-voice actreth-actress anymore. You've been replath-replaced."

Susie pulled back from him with a hurt look. Sammy hated seeing her like this. It wasn't fair. Joey shouldn't have made that call.

Suddenly, the look on Susie's face went from hurt to angry. Sammy was confused. Why was she angry at him?

"How-how could you Sammy! You said I was perfect for the role! That Alice and I were goin' places!"

Wait. She thought he replaced her! He didn't have that kind of power! If anything, she should be mad at Joey! Sammy was just the messenger! Susie turned to leave. He called after her.

"Wait Susie," he yelled. Thank God his lisp chose now to leave, "I didn't replace you! Joey-!"

She turned to face him. Tears were streaming down here face. Her make up was running.

"I don't care if was Joey or Jesus Christ himself! You're the music director for gods sakes you should have stopped him!"

"I tried! He wouldn't lis-!"

"Clearly you didn't try hard enough! Though what else would I expect from Drew's lap dog! You just roll over and do what he says without question don't you!"

"That's not-!"

"Yes it is Sammy and you know it! You may have balls Lawrence, but you sure as hell don't have a spine!"

She turned around and quickly left the room, heading for the exit to the studio. Sammy went after her, leaving Allison alone in the band room.

The argument lasted the whole trip. People could here Susie yelling at Sammy and even insulting him at times. Sammy was trying to apologize, but Susie cut him off every time.  It got really bad when they got to the animation department.

"You're always trying to hurt someone Samuel! You're always trying to push everyone away! Well congratulations you've finally done it!" Susie yelled.

She wasn't the only one crying now. Sammy also had tears rolling down his cheeks. An unbelievable sight for the rest of the employees. They watched as Sammy grabbed her arm and fell to his knees.

"Susie please! I could never hurt you; I love you!"

The room went silent. Everyone but Susie knew the music director was in love with her. He had just never said it until now. The room was silent until an audible smack could be heard. She had slapped him right across the face. He immediately let go and put his arms up like he was bracing for another hit.

"Well I loathe you Samuel Lawrence."

With that she marched out of the building.

Sammy remained on the floor and blocks his face from view. No one was sure about what to do. Typically if something was Joey's fault, Sammy would be up screaming and cussing, but now what had been quiet whimpers were now just chocked sobs. They had never seen him like this before. Sammy made it a point that he would never show any kind of emotion like this around them. It's like he forgot where he was. Wally, who was in the audience, awkwardly backed away.

" I'll go get Joey.."

"No."

Wally turned back to Sammy. He was standing up.

"Wha-,"

"I said no. I'll deal with that piece of crap."

The look on Sammy's face was nothing short of pure rage. They had seen him angry before, but not this angry.

"Wha- what are ya gonna do Lawrence," Wally said nervously.

He was more scared of Sammy in this one moment than he had ever been in his entire life.

"Something illegal."

Ok that's it for the first chapter! Just gonna unpack all of that drama. Anyway it might be some time until the next chapter, but we'll see.
