Why did she agree to all of this? The moment she got home Regina became her inner sloth and was cuddled up on her couch with her favorite pair of sweatpants on. That provided the comfort she needed after the day she had but now she was going to run late for her date with Robin. It was half an hour before five when she decided to peel herself off of the couch.
He told her not to worry about how she looked and to dress casually. So, of course, here she was standing in front of her closet stressing about what she should wear. She kept eyeing the clothes she threw on the back of her chair from earlier. The outfit she put together was pretty nice after all or maybe a dress would be better. Why would she wear a dress it's freezing outside?
"Okay, it's settled," she said as she went back to her outfit from this morning.
Regina was dressed again as she sat down at her vanity to start doing her makeup. It was just a few touchups that she had to do. She dabbed on some concealer, swiped on some mascara, and put on her favorite lip gloss. Okay, she wasn't looking her absolute best and she was getting ready to swipe some other kind of makeup on her face.
Knock! Knock!
She glanced at the clock and sighed when she saw that it was five o'clock already. What is with her and time today? Everything is moving so quickly and she hardly did anything today. Well, she did snag a date with her dreamy coworker. Her coworker! Why would she be as crazy as to go out on a date with her coworker? Because he's handsome that's why.
Knock! Knock!
The knocking at the door interrupted the little voice in her head. She threw her boots on and headed out of her room and towards the front door. She looked in the mirror that was on the wall next to the door and her heart stopped. Her hair had started to curl up since she was being careless earlier. There was no time for hair straightening this morning. She slapped her hand against her face and opened the door with a smile on her face.
"Robin, hi!" She said as she gave him a smile.
"Hello, beautiful. I was starting to think you gave me the wrong address," he said as he smiled back at her.
"Oh, I would never do that you. Can I ask where we're going?"
"Nope, it's a surprise. Do you trust me?" He held out his hand for her to take with the goofiest grin she's ever seen.
She put her hand in his and squeezed a little. "I'm not sure I should trust someone so handsome. It's the ones with the pretty faces that you have to watch out for."
"You have nothing to worry about," he said as he kissed the back of her hand. "Get your coat and a scarf, it's really chilly out there."
Regina pulled him by his hand and led him into her apartment. She was a little nervous to have him in her apartment. Her apartment was a little messy and she didn't like when people saw her mess. The little person inside her head was freaking out about the things he could be thinking about her right now. Did he think that she was a slob? Would he think bad about her when he saw how disorganized she was?
"Wow, your place is so clean. I should hire you to come and clean up my place. It's only me living in the house and it's a pigsty," he said as he walked in behind her.
"Oh, thank you," she said as she let out a breath.
Now, she could breathe peacefully. She went through the hallway closet and pulled out her blue coat. While she was putting it on she glanced up to see Robin staring at her. Her brown eyes met his blue ones and he started to smile again.
"What has you being all smiley with me today?" She asked him as she grabbed her scarf from the closet.
"I never knew your hair was curly. It's rather adorable on you and that makes me smile."
