In the year 5,000 humans fled the Earth in a state of terror. The sun had sent never-ending fireballs towards Earth. With pollution and no Ozone layer, the sun could then send it's rays down. Having had various advances in technology, we were ready but scared. We then fled to Planet Nine hoping to leave Earth with a slight chance of survival.
After a few months on the planet passed, various problems sprouted like evil seeds. Who would lead? Is there other life on the planet?
"Calm down everybody," said the former president of the United States. "The leaders of the late earth have come to a conclusion. We will not have any one leader, however we will still have laws."
"What?! This is an outrage!"
The people were not happy. I was one of the few who was. We narrowly survived total annihilation, and now we're back to our petty squabbles. I left the meeting rather disquieted. We had to build our own houses for there weren't enough construction workers to build a home for over three trillion people. Being an engineer back on Earth helped me finish my house quicker. I just realized, I haven't introduced myself. My bad. My name is Jack Michaels. I'm 28 years old and I am really smart. I graduated from Harvard when I was 15 and became an engineer not long after that. All of a sudden, I heard a big explosion. I turned around and to my horror, saw the fiery cloud of death that had engulfed so many. Screams filled my ears. Then, a very low and dark voice filled the air.
"As you can see, your leaders made a bad call. They're all dead now. You can't do anything about it. I am your new leader, and I am your new fear. Disobey, me and your fate shall be with your king or president. You will now call me King Rapier." He said in a British accent.
Everyone, myself included looked around for the source of the voice and saw a man standing where the King of England stood moments before. His face was mostly covered but the few places you could see, a scarred and burnt face was visible. He was right to call himself our fear because that face haunted me for a long time.
"And why should we listen to you?" A man in the audience asked.
King Rapier took out a gun that was glowing red. It was minuscule but it extended to be bigger than any gun I had ever seen. He pointed it at the man.
"You were saying?"
"Nothing, your royal highness," the man frantically replied.
"That's what I thought," the king said.
The king made a movement to put the gun away, but quickly brought it back up and fired at the man. A barrage of red spheres the size of baseballs were launched directly at the man and hit him in the face. The man started hovering in the air. His body was slowly decomposing. His screams were all that was heard. His skeleton was left and it dropped to the ground with a loud clack. Everyone looked deeply disturbed. Not wanting to upset the king, no one screamed but I could easily tell that they wanted to.
"Is that enough to assert my power? Or do you need another demonstration?" The king said maliciously.
The crowd refused another demonstration quickly.
"Now, I would recommend you finish your houses. The night can get cold," he said with an evil glint in his eyes.
I quickly went back to my house. I just had to add the roof and it was done. I added the roof quickly and went inside. It wasn't much in there. I sat on my makeshift rug and thought about what had just happened. I had seen the old leaders get blown up, a dictator rise, and a man get decomposed to bones. I tried to fall asleep, to forget everything for just a few peaceful hours, but to no prevail.
