knock

i thought to myself

five was gripping my hand tightly.

i looked over at him,

he gave me a reassuring smile.

i knocked on the door, praying for an answer.

a second later a elderly man and women answered the door.

a smile erupted on their faces.

"hello!" the women began,

the man looked at five, still smiling.

five looked at me, waiting for my reaction.

"we're so deeply sorry about sending you to that man, eight."

the couple said in unison.

"you must be five! we heard a lot about you, from the publicity and all that."

the women and five locked eyes.

"yep." five grinned.

"we have so much to talk about."

the man said, allowing us into the home.

we both sat on the couch,

my father and mother sat in two chairs on the opposite side of the couch.

the women brought out  coffee for us, smiling.

"we found out you had powers when you were two."

"you almost set our old house on fire."

the women looked at me.

"we had no idea how to control this new thing you had."

"that's when we found out about regionald hargreaves and the academy for those with powers."

"we thought if we sent you there we could still visit you."

the women was then cut off by five.

"why didn't you?" he asked, setting his coffee up down on the table.

the women sighed.

the man began,

"we tried. tried very hard."

"hargreeves wouldn't allow us."

"he claimed you as his."

"he tricked us, into signing this paper, giving you him."

the women looked over at her husband.

"we always kept our eyes on you though eight."

the women continued.

"when it got publicity, we would listen to your interviews, we once even got one of the magazines you guys covered in, we wanted to make sure you were okay."

"but we finally can have you back."

the women was now looking at me.

"congratulations by the way."

she was motioning to the ring on my finger.

i smiled a little.

"thank you."

the women continued on, telling about when i was younger,

about my brother i had,

who was in college.

"we all want to be apart of your life now eight, and i wished we could have done it sooner..."

the women looked down.

"please allow us to make it up to you."

i sighed, five looked at me.

"well i guess i'll allow it, allow you to be my mother, after all you are my mom"

the women looked up, a smile on her face.

she stood up,

hugging me.

after an hour or so of talking five and i had to leave,

we had planned a lunch with vanya.

we said our goodbyes and headed out.

"well?"

five asked once we had gotten in the car.

"a whole other side of me was alive, and i didn't even know it."

i looked at him,

"i thought they hated me."

he looked at me.

"that bitch kept them from me."

five smirked.

"still the sass."

"shut up hargreaves."

"hey you try and use our last name as an insult."

"our?"

"we're almost married."

he looked over at me, before kissing my cheek.

we drove to a restaurant.

meeting up with vanya.

five and i sat next to each other,

vanya on the other.

we talked,

about music,

the wedding,

orchestra,

and family.

we planned to have vanya preform at our wedding.

after an hour or so,

vanya had to leave for practice.

we all said our goodbyes and headed to wherever we had to.

five and i went back to our home.

i went to our room,

finding a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to change into.

i changed quickly, before running down to five,

jumping up wrapping my legs around him hugging him.

"i love you, dork." i smiled before planting a soft kiss on his lips, and hugging him tightly.

he sat down on the couch, with me in his lap, cuddling me.

"i love you more."
