CHAPTER SEVEN » ❝ You don't love someone because
they're perfect, you love them in spite of the
fact that they're not ❞― Jodi Picoult
It had been a few days since the nuclear bomb that is soulmates has been dropped on right on Lizzie Saltzman. Her first soulmate begging mermaid was something that she could easily mange and happily accept; she had no room for judgement given she begging a witch in and all. But, Hope Mikaelson, the very bane of her entire existence, who also was apparently her second soulmate, didn't seem so manageable. She just didn't know how to respond to it. Should she be threaded that Hope might just steal her soulmate just like she stole her friends and father? Or should she accept and love her like she already does for Rikki? It felt like one of those questions that would need to be debated for a good amount of time. But, she need an answer NOW! Lizzie couldn't wait any longer for some sort of greater cosmic answer. No, she need a simple answer to present itself. To make matters much, much worse her other arch enemy, Dana Lilien went missing and because of that she, Rikki, Hope and few others were getting sent to the human school to get more information about what could have possibly happen to Dana. Lizzie saw it as perfect chance to prove herself to both her dad and Rikki that she was better.
Or, so she had originally thought. But, it wasn't quite that. It was actually the chance for the that 'greater cosmic answer' she had been wanting. An answer that she deep down already knew the answer to and just need Hope to confirm what they both were thinking.
"Is it true?" The question came out of the blue. Now that Lizzie really thought about it, the mysterious human girl, herself had come out of thin air just to ask it. Lizzie furrowed her eyebrows at the girl. She recognized her as one of Dana's annoying friends. ' Her names Audrey' her mind instantly supplied. Not that it really mattered. She didn't remotely care about the redhead that appeared in front of her. Audrey was impartial to Lizzie at worst. Her real issue was with the her school, it was out of a petty grudge between their two schools. It also didn't help that the redhead had lies whispered into her ear by Dana and other assholes like her. Audrey, although a seething bitch, never confronted her directly before. Well, at least never by herself without Dana or any of the other goons.
Until now, at least.
"Excuse me?" Lizzie had bern standing just outside the school waiting for Hope, and Rikki to return from talking to all of the other students.
"Is it true? The rumors? " Audrey repeated. "I mean, you of people having a soulmate. But two? Come on."
So that was it. Lizzie should have seen this one coming. Audrey did seem like the gossiping type. It felt weird; weird that people were questioning, and even gossiping about the fact that she had more than one soulmate. She couldn't understand why people would think it was so bad having more than one. Sure, she had really wrapped her head around the Hope part, but idea of two had never bothered her in the slightest.
"Yes it's true." Lizzie stated like it was painfully obvious.
"It's just some stupid rumor. It has to be." Audrey huffed. " I mean, just look at yourself, who would want to be remotely attracted to that."
" I like was to begs to differ." Growled Hope over protectively as she moved to wrap her arm around Lizzie's waist. Lizzie couldn't help but want swoon at the sensation of having one of her soulmates holding her so close and lovingly. Hope glared down at the redhead with fierce furry that kinda turned Lizzie on.
"But it makes no sense!" Audrey scoffed. " She's so... so blend, ugly, and don't forget she mentally disturbed. And I doubt she doesn't even know how to handle two soulmates."
That made Hope's blood absolutely boil. Lizzie freaking Saltzman, most definitely knew what to do with two soulmates. She knew to treat them like they're human, and not some object to be used. Lizzie did more then just that. She treat them like a person instead of some sort of great plague. Which is more then what Hope could say for her fellow peers. Acting this way, Lizzie had managed to worm her way into not one heart, but two.
" It called you treat people with kindness and respect. And you don't be complete utter bitch who goes around being a crude snake like you." Growled Rikki as she made her way towards both Lizzie and Hope. She had only heard the last bit of what Audrey said and didn't need to hear much more. And Rikki wasn't about to hold back. " Now, get you snake, before I do something I won't quite fully regret." Growled Rikki as she took a threateningly step towards Audrey. The redhead scuffed but nonetheless left the trio.
" You alright, Lizzie?" Questioned Hope as she let go of Lizzie's waist; Hope's face was bright red when she noticed how close and tight she had been holding Lizzie.
" Just shut up and kiss me, you idiot." Muttered Lizzie as she wrapped her arms around Hope's neck.
