The rain was falling, clouds covered the sunshine, but there was no thunder, just a calming and mellow raindrops. A perfect mood to sip a cup of coffee and sit by the window pane, watching the breeze swaying the tall trees.

Mina stood outside the stadium gate, holding a big umbrella, and humming a sweet tune for herself. Her cheeks had turned rosy due to the chilly breeze.

She should have stayed in her room, but she couldn't wait. She decided to take a walk and enjoy the rain while waiting for him. She tapped her boots on the pavement, following a pleasant rhythm in her head.

She turned her back when she heard a noisy crowd behind her, a group of people was rushing out through the main gate, but they stopped after realizing, it had been raining. Most of them didn't bring an umbrella, of course, boys and umbrellas were never soulmates.

She watched over him, the only one who was looking around like a lost puppy. He ruffled his already messy jet black hair. His dashing height and tan complexion stood out even from afar. She smiled.

A few moments later, the tall boy noticed her presence. He squinted then beamed widely, waving his hands excitedly. She waved back at him.

She walked closer toward the gate, stepping up the stairs carefully. He intended to walk down the stairs, but she asked him to stay at his place.

                                                                            ***

She was a few feet away from him, yet he couldn't believe what he saw. He was gladly surprised, of course, but worried at the same time. For how long she had been waiting in the rain?

She held her umbrella tightly, her raven hair swayed in the cool breeze, and the smile that she gave him looked genuine and sweet. He wanted to run and hug her, but she asked him to stop and wait. What is this feeling, like something that wants to jump out of his chest?

She stood in front of him now, but all he could do was staring blankly, amazed by her mere presence. The sudden loud cheering snapped him back to reality. "Wooo, Kim Mingyu!!"

He finally blinked and gave her a bashful smile.

"Mina, why are you going out in the rain?" he asked. His eyes filled with concern.

"To see you," she answered quietly, but loud enough for these guys to start whistling, mocking him.

"Oh, we want to see you too, Mina Senpai...!!" They were holding each other while screaming, and some of them jumping around, fanboying.

She smiled kindly and bowed at them. Most of them are seniors, yet they called her Senpai because they felt like it.

Mingyu raised his hand to calm them down, and he knew he had to take her away from here, or else, they would keep teasing them, and it would be uncomfortable for her.

He took the umbrella in her hand, and grabbed her arm lightly, bringing her attention to him again. He mouthed 'let's go' to her. She quickly bowed again to the bunch of misfits.

"Bye guys!" He waved quickly, and they stepped down the stairs together, into the rain.

Their loud voices could be heard even from far away, he shook his head in disbelief, while she giggled.

"They're so much fun!" she said sweetly.

"Oh, they could be a nightmare," he convinced her.

                                                                             ***

They were walking silently a few blocks away from the stadium. They could smell the damp soil, as the pouring rain was slowly turned into a calming and relaxing drizzle contrasting his current state of mind.

He didn't know why he couldn't think straight, there was nothing particularly interesting to be brought up in this situation. He wanted to hold her hand, but he hesitated. He held the umbrella even tighter as if his life depended on it.

She looked around and smiled, humming a sweet tune, seemingly for herself. He looked at her angelic face fondly, but she seemed occupied by her thought, not aware of his sweet gaze.

Near the playground which was empty and drenched, she suddenly stopped in her tracks. Baffled, he also stopped. She turned to face him, calmly. He quickly moved the umbrella to her side.

Her dark brown eyes were staring at him for a while, and he felt like time had stopped already. The wind moved her raven hair slightly, while she bit her lower lip, pondering about something he couldn't read. Her eyelashes fluttered a few times. What a gorgeous sight.

Then she moved even closer to him and put her hands on his shoulders, carefully stood on her tiptoes, and his basic instinct told him to lean down. They kissed.

He slowly slid his right hand on her waist, guiding her back to stand on her feet while he leaned over to kiss her. She moved her hands to the back of his neck, slightly tugging at his hair, unconsciously.

He tilted his head while savoring her sweet lips. He didn't want to get too far since it was their first kiss. His heart was beating too hard she probably heard it already. He smiled between the kisses. She had no idea how much he adored her.

He couldn't help but be surprised, she decided to kiss him in the rain, on the empty street. What kind of romantic notion did she have about the rain?

Whatever it was, he wouldn't mind spending a long time in the rain with her, to fulfill her fantasy.
