Mina drew a long breath after the nerve-wracking presentation was over. She was thankful for her luck today. Everything exceeded her expectations. She didn't know whether they did great because they were actually great, or because they were scared of her wrath.
Mingyu... Mingyu, she had no forthcoming that he would be a stellar presenter. Always had a perfect balance of seriousness and fun in his presentation session. He got something that drew people in his speech. He might be the worst writer she ever knew, but definitely a more practical guy. To be frank, his charisma was unrivaled.
Eunwoo, he easily got a flying color from the professor. As expected, Eunwoo was exactly as Mina had ever imagined he would be, a textbook robotic moderator. The ideal type that every professor would love to bring on a boring dissertation seminar.
Jackson... Jackson, Jackson! He was born to be a stand up comedian. He did great at memorizing all of his material. And daring enough to crack a joke in the middle of the quiet class, brought a delightful atmosphere to the dreary class. Even the professor was laughing at him. Such a quirky fellow. But not recommended to copy his way, that would only work for Jackson alone.
She was turning her half empty glass on the table repeatedly, as she stole a glance at Mingyu who was busy with his cell phone. She cleared her throat and she got everyone's attention sans Mingyu.
"Thank you... er, for your hard work guys," she said hesitantly.
"Thank you for your hard work, Mina, we wouldn't get an A without your continuous torture..." Jackson smiled. Eunwoo kicked his shins under the table.
Mina shot him an apologetic look , her lips went downturned. "I'm sorry, guys... I was nervous, since it was our first important assignment."
Jackson was busy headlocking Eunwoo in his arm. Eunwoo tapped Jackson's arm with all his might. Jackson seemed persistent with his effort to annoy his innocent friend, as he barely moved his arm from his friend's neck.
After he had been released, Eunwoo straightened the collar of his blue shirt. He glared at his annoying friend, while Jackson put his tongue out. Mingyu was still unaffected by the mayhem around him, his focus never left the small screen in his hand.
"I'm mostly feel sorry toward you, Mingyu," Mina said, sincerely.
"Hmm," was his only answer.
Eunwoo grabbed Mingyu's cell phone and put it inside his shirt pocket.
"Hey, man, what you're doin'?" Mingyu looked at Eunwoo quizzically.
"At least pay attention to what we're saying, bro!" Eunwoo said.
"I listened to everything. You said sorry, didn't you?" he addressed Mina, "well, you've been forgiven, satisfied?" His eyebrows shot up.
All of them went speechless.
Mingyu and Mina glared at each other with an alarming gaze. Jackson's eyes darted back and forth between them. His mouth tried to say something but decided to shut up and sipped his cola instead.
"I said; I'm sorry, Mingyu. I shouldn't have underestimated you, but I had to be fair, you were slacking..." Mina said with a shaky voice.
Eunwoo held his breath at her words. He could sense an upcoming war of wits that would happen.
"And I said, you've been forgiven, miss Mina... anything else you expect me to do now?" Mingyu said. As calm as his tone was, his upper lip twitched slightly.
Jackson choked on his drink. He immediately rose from his seat and scrambled his way to the sink on the back of the canteen.
Mina paid attention to Jackson for a while; after he disappeared in the corner, she returned her focus to Mingyu.
