Twenty days after the bomb

There's no point in keeping track of the days is there? At this point I only do it to keep myself sane. It's boring here without the whole family. Jason left two days ago once we were getting short on water once more. He said that without his family he had no reason to live, he gave his life to save mine. None of them have come back yet and I can only assume they're dead if they don't return. I hope their death was merciful.

Chris stretches, shutting his journal and setting it off to the side as he looks around his small shelter. With the faint hum of the radio next to him he looks around at the little supplies he has left. Three bottles of water and 13 cans of food. He makes a mental checklist before laying back on his cot. If he wanted to survive he was going to have to make the little supplies he had left count. There was a need to conserve energy if he was going to go through with his plan once he had two bottles left.
