Julius's words sank in like tiny sharp swords pierced through my brain. Killing Rynna Phélès..a young woman who is somehow related to me. Could I really do it? Take a life in cold blood like that? I shivered. Even if I wanted to..could I? She's a powerful sorceress! In my mind, I heard Amelie's answer to my inner questions.
Amelie: No, sweetie. Rynna Phélès must not die- she's too important. However, you should meet her.
As I was commuting with Amelie telepathically, I saw Julius looked at my direction nervously.
Julius: Well? Will you kill the queen?
Jasmin: Uh..There must be another way!
Julius: Must there?
Jasmin: Yes! I don't want to take her life!
Julius: So many people had lost their lives because of her ascension.
Jasmin: So what? Because one person's merciless, we must be too? The whole world would burn and fall if everybody thought that way.
Julius: Well, what would be your plan? Will you bewitch the queen or will you persuade her of the error of her ways?
Jasmin: I don't know. Hopefully I'll think of something when the time comes.
Julius: I hope so too. The fate of the world rests on your shoulders.
No pressure, Jasmin!
Julius: Now, let's head to-
Before Julius could finish his sentence, I heard a loud bang which was swiftly followed by another.
Jasmin: What in the world is happening?!
Julius: Somebody is trying to break in.
Jasmin: Breaking in?! Is there another way out?
Julius turned around and pressed a hidden button in a statue's eyes just above the corner of his wall.
Julius: Shit. The portal is blocked. We're trapped!
Just then before we could further increase our panic levels, Kargo magically appeared out of nowhere. I stumbled backwards with Kargo's sudden presence. As Kargo landed swiftly on the floor, it frantically dashed about the basement and rummaged through the drawers. In one of the drawers, he found an image of Rynna Phélès on a bank note. It quickly transformed into her form and I noted that this time, it was wearing clothes.
Jasmin: Kargo?! How on earth..
Julius: Your magical dog changed shape!
Kargo: Wrong on two counts; I am not a dog and I belong to nobody.
Jasmin: Wait, if you could make clothes appear all along, why did you keep being naked?
Kargo: Technically, I'm still 'naked'. What looks like clothes is as much a part of me as everything else you see is. Clothes seem unnatural to me, but I thought it might be hard to explain why the queen is naked in Julius's basement.
Jasmin: Oh, good point.
The basement hatch crashed in, as a golem's foot stomped through it. Six matched sorceress charged into the cellar and screamed wildly. Their screams were cut short when they saw the queen, whom was Kargo.
Sorceress 1: My queen! Wh-what are you doing here? You asked us to capture Julius!
Kargo: If I knew you were going to be so slow, I wouldn't have bothered.
Sorceress 1: We came here as fast as we could. Mirage's directions were unclear and we faced oppositions en route.
Mirage betrayed Julius? But why?
