Alright, meeps, ya know the drill. It's ya boi, new kid.
Well, it's (Y/N), actually.
So, right now I guess you're wondering:
'What the hell?'
And so, in answer to that question, I say to you:
'Yes, the hell. This is hell. This life, this new school, this new house which is not even a house but an apartment, and everything about it and whatever that might be in between. It is all... hell.'
Speaking of which, despite me being in hell, I have apparently come across an angel, who seems to be interested in making her acquaintance with me. Strange, for an angel to be attracted to the Devil, no?
Anyways, you must be trying to figure out who this angel is. Well, it's my new next-door neighbor, my cousin, Lynne. She's a year older than me, 16.
Today she's wearing her signature peach knitted cardigan over a white tee, paired with slim cut denim jeans and converse shoes. A humble retro look, contrast to my faded, worn out, short-sleeved t-shirt and drawstring panda shorts ( I made an effort to wear a pair of blue-black jeans while I was travelling here, but once I arrived I'd changed in a flash. ). Oh, also I was wearing a beanie, adorned with all of my fandoms' badges. And crocs.
"Hi, (Y/N)!" she beamed at me."Settling in well?"
I manage to smile a bit.
"Yeah, I'm good. Still unpacking, but good." I then gestured to the spacious room behind me. "Did you guys have to give me an entire apartment room though? It seems a bit too much."
"Well.." she hesitated for a moment. "Mom said that your parents said that you liked big spaces."
I chuckle softly. "I am a bit of a room hogger." It was true, with all of my stuff. I pondered this for a bit. "But still, didn't it cost you guys? This whole move?"
She shook her head. "Your parents had left a reasonably large amount of money. This whole thing didn't even cost a quarter of that. So, think of it as you living on your own. You're not depending on us at all, virtually."
"I see... and uh, Lynne?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
She laughed.
"For what?"
I shuffle my croc-covered feet. Tug on my beanie. It's a habit when I'm nervous.
"For taking me in, for not talking about my parents as if they were dead, which they are, and... everything, I guess." I blurted everything out.
She looked taken aback.
And then she smiled.
"That's what family's for, isn't it?"
