"Seohyun..." My officemate, Kim Bum, called my attention while waving his hands in front of my face. Both of us are at the balcony of the building having a coffee since lunch time isn't over yet.
Darn... I guess I'm spacing out again. But I'm too pre-occupied thinking about the health of my mother. She has a serious heart disease and she needed continuous medications.
"You seemed to de at lost. Is there anything wrong?" He said when he got my attention.
I sighed hearing his question. "Neh... I'm too worried for Umma. You know about her condition, right?" I relayed. Kim Bum has been one of my closest friends here at the Company. I never really got the chance to mingle a lot since I'm always stuck on the executive office where only personnel are allowed to enter. It was the Company's anniversary when I met him, along with Shin He. We learnt that he came from the same province as I am and the funny thing is that our mothers are well acquainted before we moved to Seoul. While Shin He, on the other hand, is a nice person to de with. She has a bubbly personality that I felt at ease to her in a instant. The three of us gather once in awhile for some bonding times. Mostly on weekends, since my work requires me to do some overtimes.
But of course, the two of them don't know what I've been doing during those 'overtimes.'
"Oh, what happened now? Is she alright?" He asked with pure concern.
"Yes... but she lost her balance yesterday while cooking and is feeling dizzy. Good thing, it wasn't severe and the doctor just said that my mother needed some rest. Umma... she's really stubborn. I told her not to stress herself out."
"Well... you know Auntie. She doesn't want to burned you so she still kept on working to help you. Just talk to her and explain to her the situation, gently. Knowing you... you tend to nag. That's why Auntie is being rebellious. "He teased, probably trying to lighten up my mood.
"YAH! I'm not a nag." I said while playfully slapping him in the arm.
"See! And you're too violent!" He continued to tease and pinch me on the nose. I scrunched my nose and stuck out my tongue childishly. He chuckled and pinched my cheeks affectionately.
"Chubby chubby cheeks!"
"YAH!" I said while feigning pain yet we ended up laughing.
"Ms. Seo." A familiar voice was heard from behind. I stiffened, knowing too well of that voice. Kim Bum and I both turned around and I felt my heard beating wild at the sight of him. I prayed hard that he doesn't saw that Kim Bum and I were fooling around. "Oh, I'm sorry to interrupt."
"Ah... no, not at all, Sir." Kim Bum said. "We're just teasing each other. You're not interrupting anything." He added. Oh dear Kim Bum. Please stop talking. You are going to get me in trouble. I looked at Ji Chang Wook and out eyes got locked for a moment. His eyes say it all. I'm doomed. I gulped and I averted his piercing gaze.
"But still, my apologies. I know that break time ins't over yet. But I really need to talk to Ms. Seo here. If you don't mind?" Chang Wook smoothly said. Tsk. He's being polite and all... but I know him very well. I know every looks he has and I saw moments ago that he isn't happy.
"Ah... Kim Bum. I have to go." I told Kim Bum while bowing.
"Sure. Say hello to Auntie from me." He smiled at me then bowed politely at Ji Chang Wook. Ji Chang Wook bowed in return and walked away. I followed suit in an instant. I don't want to be on his bad books today. Last time I got him mad, he violated me over and over again that I got bruises and I couldn't walk for a day.
