The caravan took a few minutes of silence. Fear was air the doomed had afforded.
BANG!
Niko was startled at the sound of an explosion not very far from the caravan. Bits and pieces of human flesh and guts scattered everywhere. The outrider had just committed suicide using some sort of grenade. Niko, still struggling from his wounds, blacked out.
Wake.
Up.
As he opened his eyes, Niko realized he was floating. Surrounded by the seemingly calming white fog that never ends. His tired eyes looked for something to focus into, but the sparse mist goes on. He was floating on an empty space, with nothing to hear.
Niko.
Niko heard the voice once again. It was a girl. Desperate, he vigorously scans his surreal surroundings to look for her.
Niko. Get up.
Frustration flowed through his veins as he turns his head around to look for someone, SOMETHING.
Niko!
Out of infuriation, he poised himself to yell.
He woke up and screamed. The dark sky greeted him once again, except there's a face blocking it. Niko tried to collect himself and realized he was dreaming. He focused his attention to the unsusually close face infront of him. Hair lands on Niko's face. Long brown hair. It was the medic from the caravan trying to wake him up.
Niko, get up! There's a group of people coming our way!
He tried to get up but his damaged torso prevents him from doing it properly.
Here they come!
A small group of spell casters and heavy armored soldiers had reached the caravan, badly bruised and plagued with exhaustion. Their armors were covered in blood, steel shoulder guards cracked into halves.
We... We need to get out of here. Now!
Niko recognized their armor. The one who just spoke wears dark red plate mail with gold trimmings on the sides. All of them has a silver necklace with a maroon rose pendant... They can't be.
Surprised. Niko finally let out a long breath. He knows who they are and what they do. He recognized them.
They were his heroes.
Rose Guard Sentinels...
Lestia's most elite soldiers.
