Izuku had always wondered where Inko had bought her trinkets that sat on the counter, or the blankets that were soft enough to be fur. The small stuffed animals that littered his bed, and that one frog clock that sat on the living room sink.

When she had told him she bought them from a swap meet in the park, he refused to believe her, until one day he met Kyata. Kyata had helped Inko move a dresser she had bought into their apartment. She had ginger hair and an American accent, and her voice was loud and boisterous. She had calluses on her hands and feet, "from working so hard," she'd say.

"Where do you work?" Izuku had asked the woman, to which she laughed.

"I thought you'd've known this by now," she had said, laughing roughly, "where do you think your mom got this dresser?"

From that day on, his mother if he could accompany her, but she would always say he was too little. Now, on his 6th birthday, she agreed to take him.

"Where do you want to go first," questioned Inko, her hair up in a tight bun.

"Can we go to Kyata's booth?" He replied. His emerald eyes were alight with excitement, wide and full of adventure. Inko laughed and nodded, heading towards the colorful booth.

"Well," Izuku heard her voice first, "if it ain't little Izu!" He excitedly turned towards the tall ginger woman.

"Hello Ms. Shina," he quickly waved in greeting."

"Izuku," she started, "I told you to call me Kyata."

Izuku nodded, but knew he wasn't going to remember that. He was always bad with names. He couldn't remember Kacchan's name for the first few weeks he knew him, and he always just called his teachers "Sensei".

"Well whatcha here for?" Kyata asked the small boy.

"It's my birthday!" He replied, "and mama said I could come and get something!"

Kyata turned a questioning gaze towards Inko, who simply nodded and said, "I'll pay for it, don't worry"

She then motioned to her booth, "well look around!"

Izuku saw all sorts of things: boots, gloves, and even plates. Then, something caught his eye. It was an old looking lamp, but it also looked fairly new with its polished exterior. It was a shade of ice blue, with a pink accent around the handle and lid.

"Mama," he turned to his mother, pointing a finger at the lamp, "can I have that one?"

Inko was surprised, but nodded nonetheless. Why would he choose a lamp?

Izuku didn't know why he picked it. He guessed it was the decorations, the detail.

Oh, how wrong he was.

When they'd gotten home, it was midnight. Inko decided to talk a bit with Kyata, and after the swap meet ended, she took the family out for dinner. Inko let Izuku stay up for a bit longer, setting the lamp in his room.

When it was time for Izuku to sleep, he merely pretended, waiting for the moment to check it out. After he knew for certain the coast was clear, he slipped out of bed and set his eyes on the lamp. Izuku picked it up, but it was surprisingly heavy, like something was in it. Yet, when the boy opened it, there was nothing.

He rubbed the side of the lamp, feeling the smooth texture under his thumb. Izuku then felt the clay get hot under his fingers. Wait, it wasn't hot, it was really hot. Quickly setting the lamp on the table, he blew on his hands. How the heck did it get that hot?!

"If you are wondering why your hands are red hot, human," he heard a soft, kind voice speak out, "then I am that reason. I sincerely apologise." What was this!?

"W-wh-who are you?" He asked, trying to sound brave.

"Forgive me," the voice replied, "my name is Yaoyorozu Momo, I am what I think you humans call a genie, and you have my lamp."

A girl appeared in the room, wearing a red scarf around her chest. Her long pants bunched up in some places, her waist was circled by a yellow-ish belt, and her hair was in a ponytail. Her eyes were a soft black, almost like the color of chocolate chips.
