==Your POV==
You wake up to your alarm at 4:30 am. You groggily get up and take a quick shower. The reason you have to get up so early is to administer some pills and get some chemo going for a few kids on your team. You brush your long, thick hair that you are so glad grew in after you beat cancer.
You brush your teeth, and look in your closet for something to wear. You decide upon jeans and a 1975 t shirt that you really liked. You yawn and put on your black converse.
Instantly you perk up because you remember you're going to meet Lauren, Camila, and the rest of the girls today. You smile and walk out of your room.
The first on your list is Kyle, a six year old with leukemia. You walk in his room and see he is already awake, reading a Thomas the Train book.
"Hey bud," you say, getting his attention.
"(Y/N)!" He says happily. You walk over to him and kiss his forehead.
"How are you feeling this beautiful morning?" You ask.
"Well I'm not good, but I'm better, and happy," he says with a smile.
You smile and say, "That's better than yesterday! Now are you ready to kick cancer's butt again today?"
"Yeah!" Kyle shouts, raising his fists in the air.
"Alright, let's get you hooked up," you say, taking a needle and putting it by his collarbone. He winces a little, and you turn on the machine to start pumping chemo into his frail body.
"There you go, dude," you say, giving him a fist bump.
"Thanks, (Y/N)," he says, smiling.
"Anytime, bud. I'll see you later this afternoon," you say, walking out the door.
The last kid you need to visit is Jessica. She needs to take some pills to calm down her Tourette's. Tourette's is a syndrome that makes you do things you can't control. Jessica has verbal Tourette's, so she says things she doesn't mean.
You knock on her door and she opens it, giving you a smile.
"Hey, (Y/N)," Jessica says, groggily.
"Hey baby, how are you doing?" You ask, handing her the pills and a bottle of water.
"Shit!" She yells. "Good, I guess. My tics aren't as- shit- bad today," Jess says through her tics. She takes her pills and yawns.
"Well-Oh my gosh-I'm going to try and get-shit-more sleep," Jess says.
"That'll be good for you. Sleep well," you say, kissing her forehead. You leave and close her door. Now that your early morning rounds are done, you skip downstairs to get some breakfast at Starbucks.
You walk down the steps and enter the Starbucks that is conveniently placed adjoining the hospital. Since there's no one in line, you talk with your best friend, Daniel.
"Hey Danny Boy," you shout, walking into the coffee shop.
"Yo! (Y/N), what's up?" Danny calls to you. "You want your usual?" He asks, peeking around the corner of the kitchen.
"That would be great," you smile, making the ok sign with your hand. He starts up the machine and sits down at a table with you.
"How's everything been? Work? Social life?" He asks with a grin.
"Well, it's been tiring. Just last week, we lost baby Mike to brain cancer, which is still really affecting me," you say, tears forming.
"I heard. Cancer sucks ass. I know how attached you were to Mikey," Danny says, holding your hand. Mikey was a three year old who you absolutely adored. He was so adorable and such a good guy. Then cancer had to butt its ugly head in and ruin everything.
