(A/N)

Hi, hi. I know I said I'd update my other story soon, but I got lazy and need to slowly get myself back into it. I've been kinda obsessed with Persona as of late, and made this a few days ago, and figured why the hell not?

Tell me what you think. It's all in third person, just so you're aware, unless I say otherwise. I think it'll mainly be based around Akira's perspective, but don't quote me on that. It'll also have partly yours, but again, still third person unless stated otherwise.

Oh, and I'll put a key for stuff eventually if I think it's necessary. I will say though:

(H/T) is hair type, like wavy, curly, etc.

Also, sorry if it gets confusing. I plan to edit this eventually, too, to make my thoughts more clear and flow smoother. But that's not gonna be for a while since I've been a tad busy with school and just mental health stuff.

Anyway, let me know what you think and enjoy!

He rinsed off yet another glass, setting it down to pickup another. He sighed as he continued to do the worst part of his job: cleaning. Working at the café had its perks, sure. But this wasn't one of them.

His eyes glanced up at the door as the bell above it rung softly, a boy standing beneath. The fake-blond shot a cheeky grin at the employee, walking over and plopping down in front of him.

"Hey, what's goin' on?" The blonde asked, leaning against his hand. The boy behind the counter set down his rag and the last glass, untying his apron afterward.

"Nothing. Just another boring day," he said with a sigh. He walked over to the door, opening it and flipping the sign to 'closed'. He went back inside, ending up in a seat next to his blond haired friend.

"Yeah, I feel that," he replied. The two sat there for a moment before the blond started to speak again. "Hey, you hear from Ann recently?"

The frizzy-haired boy shook his head. "No. Is everything alright?" He questioned.

"Yeah. I just wanna ask her somethin', but I wanna make sure she'll answer," he stated. The boy next to him sent him a knowing smile, causing a blush to spread across the blond's cheeks. "What's with the look, you ass?!"

The dark haired boy chuckled, adjusting his black framed hipster glasses. "I didn't give you a look."

"Don't play like that, dammit!"

The two boys couldn't help but laugh, even if the blond was a bit embarrassed. Their laughter died down, both getting lost in thought suddenly.

"You know... I wish things could always be this calm," the blond mumbled. The dark-haired boy nodded in agreement.

"It will be, eventually. Now that we live here, anyway," he murmured, mainly to himself.

"Hey, ya wanna go to Momentos later? I'm sure Morgana'll get his whiskers in a bunch if we don't soon," the other replied.

"What did you just say, monkey?!" A high-pitched male voice cut the air. Both boys jumped, turning to the stairs where an angry black and white tuxedo cat sat.

"Ya heard me, tuna breath." The cat growled at the response, ready to charge on over before the messy-haired boy intervened.

"Let's not fight... Today." The blond boy and the cat both glared at each other, but ended up just looking away and huffing. The boy between them sighed in relief.

"Anyway, we should head there soon. I want to kick some more sleazy adult ass!" The energetic boy exclaimed with a bright grin.

"That would be nice..." The cat mumbled.

"So, we just need Ann on board, right?" The blond asked.

"Sounds right. You better not pull any funny business!!" The cat yelled. The boy looked like he was going to lose it.

"Ryuji, why don't you text her?" The other boy suggested, wanting to avoid another disagreement.

"Oh, right! I'll do that..."

The cat rested on the table in the dark-haired boy's room half asleep as he tried to listen to the boys' conversation. It didn't work well, since he ended up passing out. The door was now locked, as Sojiro went home. Ryuji and the boy decided to just have a sleepover so that he didn't have to walk home in the dark.

This was mainly because the frizzy-haired boy was too caring for his own good, but he did consider Ryuji as his best friend. The two sat at the table in the room, watching some awful horror movie that happened to be on.

"Dude... This movie sucks ass," the blond groaned. The other boy grunted in agreement.

"There's nothing else on," the other replied.

"We could go to Momentos~"

"No."

"Akira!"

"Ryuji."

"You can't do thaaaat~"

"I just did."

"You're such a smartass."

"Thank you."

The two bickered like that all the time, but never meaningfully. It was just a friendly kind of thing. The blond cleared his throat, remembering something.

"Akira, ya think I got a chance?" He asked with a serious tone. The boy with glasses glanced at his friend, nodding lightly.

"Why wouldn't you?" He retorted. His friend shrugged.

"I dunno. It feels like she's outta my league." The grey-eyed boy shook his head.

"You should talk to a friend of hers, that isn't me," the boy suggested. Ryuji stared at him for a minute.

"I guess you gotta point. But if they're friends with her, couldn't they just lie, anyway?" He questioned further. The other boy sweat dropped, wishing his friend would just stop questioning everything and overthinking it.

"Just listen to Akira, Meathead!" The cat's voice suddenly boomed, the blond immediately going into attack mode when he spotted the feline.

"You're so de—"

"Bed! Time for bed," Akira interrupted sheepishly, turning the tv off and walking over to his bed. Ryuji only sighed, but made his way to the futon regardless.

They both got settled after a few minutes. "Are you comfortable?" Akira asked softly. The blond gave him a thumbs up from across the room.

"Sure am!" He happily replied, pulling his blanket over his shoulder. The dark-haired boy nodded slightly as he hit the lamp switch, taking his glasses off and setting them on the nightstand beside his bed.

Morgana pranced over and hopped on the bed, ending up right beside Akira's legs. The boy looked up at the ceiling, ignoring he snores from his best friend. He became accustomed to it after a while.

He felt this odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. It was like anxiety, but felt almost worse than that. He could only imagine it had to do with another awful adult doing something illegal and morally incorrect. He tended to get that feeling when that was the case, but it felt different this time.

Like it really hurt him.

He couldn't help but feel more confused the more he thought about it. He sighed, rolling over to stare out the window at the clear sky, the stars twinkling brightly.

The boy closed his eyes, eventually succumbing to the darkness. Though he was unaware of the events about to unfold.
