"Are you sure you don't want me to come inside with you, sweety?" My mom asks, finally releasing me from her tight hug.

"It's college, mom. I don't want to be the one who brings her mother with her." I return honestly.

"Alright, take care and stay away from drugs!" She shouts after me. I raise my hand as a way of saying goodbye and watch her drive off.

So that's it. College. The time of my life I have always dreamed about. Sadly, I can't afford a room on campus but after days of searching I have found a share house for students only... And now I am standing in front of it.

To my surprise, the house looks more like a mansion. I check again to see if it is the right address before ringing the door bell.

I take a step back and adjust my clothes to make a good first impression. Whoever opens that door will be my roommate for the next few years. I just wish for some nice, down to earth students who won't bother me too much.

The door flings wide open to reveal a shirtless boy around my age. His light brown hair is messy like he just got out of bed but his blue eyes are sparkling brightly. He smiles at me with his perfect white teeth. "You must be Toni."

I think I'm going to faint

I think I'm going to faint. Please, just don't let him be my roommate. How am I supposed to live with this guy and concentrate on my studying at the same time? "Yeah, nice to meet you." I stammer after what feels like an eternity.

"Come on, let me get that." He walks over to me and picks up my suitcase. I hold my breath at his sudden closeness. "Where are my manners, right? I'm Connor."

Connor leads me inside, the smile not leaving his face once. We enter a huge modern living room with a pool table, a dinner table that fits about six people, a flat screen and a big leather couch.

As we stand in the living room someone on the couch turns to face us. "The new roommate..." he states in a cheerful voice. Kill me right now.

He flashes me a smile as well

He flashes me a smile as well. "I'm Sammy... I hope Connor didn't intimidate you. He just doesn't know how to put on a shirt properly." Does that mean he always walks around showing off his abs? His girlfriend must live in constant jealousy.

I chuckle quietly. "It's fine. He made himself very useful carrying my suitcase."

As I turn back to Connor I see him smiling proudly. "You see, Sammy. She said it was fine and I'm still better behaved than Liam, aren't I?"

Sammy lets out a cough in response. "Comparing yourself to the devil, that's smart. But don't worry, I'll do whatever it takes to stop you from turning into Liam."

I am in desperate need for clarification. "Is Liam also living here?" They both nod in unison. "Wait, so I'm living with three guys?"

They exchange an unsure look before Connor finally speaks up. "Four actually..." My eyes widen in an instant. I can't live with four boys. "No need to freak out. Liam's not that bad if you get to know him and Ryan is barely around."

"That's crazy. I thought this was a mixed dorm." I state in disbelief. My mom would never let me move in here if she knew who I was living with.

"Now it's mixed." Sammy chuckles from the couch.

Before I can even react, Connor throws a pillow at him. "Not helping, buddy." He picks the suitcase back up and lays his hand on my shoulder. "Let's get you settled in first. Once you've met everybody, everything else will fall into place, trust me."

I look into his piercing blue eyes and take a deep breath. "You're probably right. I'm overreacting."

Connor shows me upstairs through a wide hallway with paintings and pictures everywhere. At the end of it, we finally reach my room.

He walks in first, holding the door open for me. "Welcome to your new home." I can't help but smile as I look around the beautiful modern bedroom. There's a queen sized bed in the middle of it, a big wardrobe on one side and a black desk on the other. The bed is covered with pink fluffy pillows.

I turn back to Connor. "This room's amazing."

"You haven't seen the best part yet." He pushes a curtain aside and opens the door behind it.

"Don't tell me there's more." I follow him outside onto a spacious balcony with two deck chairs on it. Connor is standing at the railing, the wind blowing through his hair. I come up beside him and look around. "You have a freaking swimming pool?" I ask completely dazzled.

"WE have a swimming pool." He chuckles shaking his head slightly. My heart skips a beat at his choice of words.

"This is officially insane. How come the house was so much cheaper than living on campus?" I question out of curiosity.

Connor rubs the back of his neck uncomfortably. "We've had a few complications with our ex roommates and since Liam caused most of them, he offered to pay a bigger part of the rent."

"Complications? Do I even want to know what they were about?"

I watch Connor pacing around. "Liam can be difficult... You'll probably see for yourself when you meet him." He opens the door again. "I'll give you some time to unpack. Dinner will be ready at 7."

"You cook?" I ask a bit surprised. Most boys I know can't even figure out how to use an oven properly.

"Don't get your hopes up. The delivery service already knows our names by heart." He laughs before disappearing back into the house. Instantly, I release a breath I didn't even know I was holding.

I stay on the balcony for a while longer enjoying the view. That's definitely not what I imagined when I decided to move out. But maybe I can make it work. As long as I keep my distance from each one of my roommates and concentrate on my studies instead...

I take a few deep breaths when I notice someone swimming in the pool. Judging from his tanned skin and his jet black hair it's neither Connor nor Sammy.
