Ella and Bonnie, a lesbian couple, sat cuddling on the couch and Lilith, the quiet girl looked through papers. They had all welcomed Mack into the group with open arms. The boy was finally happy. He had a place to stay, good company and was in a band. Things were starting to look up from his lonely, lost life.
He noticed a pool in the backyard of Seth's house.
"I couldn't help but notice that you have a pool outside"
"Ah yes, we used to use that on sunny days, but know we hardly use it"
"Why not?" Mack didn't mean to pry, but his curiosity got the better of him. The others had fallen silent.
"Just lost interest in swimming I guess" Seth shrugged in reply.

The next morning, Mack awoke, eyes fluttering open. He heard voices coming from down the hall to the living room.
"Why's he here, he doesn't belong!?" Lilith exclaimed.
"Well maybe if we give him a chance we can tell, he's barely been here 5 minutes and you're already telling me we should kick him out!? Who do you even think you are to question my decisions, this is my group! I make the rules."
Mack rubs his eyes and starts making his way down the hall.
"He's weak, I can tell. He wouldn't understand the chaos that's coming." The quiet girl said quite confidently but still intimidated by Seth.
"Oh come on now, Lilith." He spat her name. "Give the guy a fucking chance, we don't know what kind of shit he's gone through."
"Then maybe we should do our jobs and figure that out," Lilith says lowering her voice as she hears footsteps coming down the hallway. She walks away eyeing Mack as she passes him.
"Everything okay?" Mack asks tentatively. Seth nods and puts on a smile.
"Yes. Fine. Now come on, tell me about you, your past, anything."
Mack though carefully about what to say next. The past. He had to search his mind for it.
"Well, I moved here from England when I was about 5 or 6, maybe? Then when I was around 15 I discovered I was... g-gay. My parents found out a-and, um, and they kicked me out. Straight to the curb. I've been living on the street ever since. Not so sure about family anymore." Mack described his past, trying hard not to let out the pain in his voice.
Seth looks at mack sadly. "You poor, poor soul. I'm devastated for you. But forget the past, forget your parents. You're here now, you're safe here, safe here for as long as you need. And guess what! You've got a whole new family! A family of friends. You've got two lesbians as friends as well. As well as my pansexual self!" Seth comforts, trying to lighten the mood.
The boy nearly cried out but, the tears didn't come up as he listened to Seth speak. He mutters out a 'thank you' and wraps his arms around the man into a hug, causing Seth to smile as he too wraps his arms around Mack. The pair felt so comfortable they didn't want to leave each other's arms. They eventually pulled away.
Mack suddenly realised his hair was still a mess from getting up earlier. "I'm gonna go uh get cleaned up." Seth chuckled at this.
"I thought it looked cute but alright" He jokes earning a little chuckle from the brown haired boy. He winked before disappearing to his room to fix up his hair and redo his eyeliner. 'A wink... What the bloody hell was that' he thought to himself. While Seth had considered it adorable.
After a few minutes, Mack reappeared smelling sort of vanilla-ish? He wore a pair of khakis and cute pink v-neck along with his black fedora. His look earned a few hoots from a girl with bangs sitting on the couch.
"Wow, look at you, Mack, that outfit is absolutely stunning." Seth admires, smiling at Mack, giving him a pink tint to his cheeks.
"Thank you, I bet you'll look great in every outfit"
"Why, thank you" Seth replied putting a hand to his chest to act honoured by the compliment.
