Chapter 11: Starting all over again

To Sam, waiting for this moment to come was extremely slow. She was excited to do this task. She was confident that she would pull it off with little to no conflict. The biggest obstacle would be completely political. She understood that the N.I.D. was strong against Hammond running the Stargate. "If I can convince them they could be taken over by the Goa'uld, then they might be more understanding if they weren't already from the very beginning. That was one thing we couldn't prove."

Oriana knocked on her door. Knowing who it was, she said, "Come in, Mother."

After walking in, Oriana said nothing at first, until Sam looked at her and gave a genuine smile. "I will miss you, Sammy."

"I will too. I wished you could come with me, but you're not alive in that reality."

"When you set things right and everyone goes to Dinotopia that will change."

"I hope they will go to that island."

"If you train Brandon, he will. After all, they were the first to go there."

"Only if Jolinar, I mean Jill Cantrell, sets that teleporter."

Oriana smiled, "You know very well that you can be the one to do that. Something is bothering you, and it isn't the success of your mission."

She stopped what she was doing, and looked down at the ground, "I will be with Jack, but I won't. I can't love him when I'm in love with Jack, here."

"Why not?"

"Mother! They are two unique people."

"The only difference I see is one is Colonel Jack O'Neill, and the other is Master Jedi, Jack O'Neill. Don't tell me you have not felt his potent ability to use the Force."

"I feel like he does."

Oriana was quiet.

She felt that she was waiting for her to say something. "What do you want from me?"

She gave her that look.

"I know I will train him, Emily, and Ben, but what does that have to do with this Jack and I?"

"Don't tell me you have never dated or had any romantic contacts with others."

She smiled, "I have, Mother."

"Working together is a great way to tackle this! Remember, you promised your husband your full support."

"That has been bothering me. That Jack belongs to her."

"Don't give me that druk, or I will call the royal ass-kicker."

She laughed. "Okay, I'll woo him. Knowing me anyhow, I will end up doing that the moment I set eyes on him."

"You won't love an unfamiliar person, and you know that. He is just as much your Jack as the one in this reality."

She sighed, "I will miss my Jack something awful. I feel that I will be gone at least the time they kidnapped me to this point in time. I don't know if I can be away from him that long."

Oriana smiled, "I felt the same way when Author died. I didn't think I could find another. It was when all my friends and family were nagging at me to find another. That is how I found Jacob."

"I love you mom, and I will miss you something awful."

"I will miss you, too. You better start your journey, or you will miss this splendid opportunity."

After hugging her Mother, she stepped back. She closed her eyes to concentrate on her task. Moments later, she vanished.
