Still Michael's POV :
"I often visit any kinds of hospitals and give the patients toys, books or just a hug or a listening ear if they need one." I try not to say that I'm Michael Jackson, The King Of Pop.
"Wow, that's really nice, but I don't need anything. I just have to stay here for one day." She smiles faintly. I know what she's going through, at least a bit. She tries to be strong, but she doesn't realize that she isn't alone in this battle.
"That's good to hear, but why are you here?" I ask even though I know the answer.
"Michael, this hospital is organized in areas. And I'm sure you know that. I'm also sure you know what this section is therefore you know why I'm here. I really don't wanna talk about it. I mean, it was worse before and I'm used to it by now." She again smiles faintly.
"Ok, I know why you are here, but talking about it may helps you." I suggest her while taking a seat nearby her bed.
"Thank you for the offer. But I can tell you in my case talking won't help. Believe me when I say I tried talking many times before and each time I was more broken then before." She now looks down sadly.
"Maybe the listener was just not the right person." I try to lighten the mood.
"You're right about that. They were all not good at their job." She chuckles a bit.
"But I think you would be great as a therapist, you got me to talk way faster then anyone else before." She smiles at me.
"Well thank you, but I could be a therapist. Why do you think I'm not?" I ask her curiously.
"There are many reasons why. First, I met many of those people in my life and after a while you can just tell who is a therapist and who isn't. Second, you don't have a notepad with you. Third, you didn't say anything like : "Whatever we talk about will stay between us." And fourth, you didn't bring any animals or stuffed animals with you. " She explained rather quick.
Woah, she is smart, but was is it with the animals ?
"Why do you think if somebody comes into your room with an animal he is a therapist?" I ask her feeling really stupid. She'll probably give me the simplest answer and I still wouldn't get it.
"When it comes to kids at a young age many therapists try to get them to talk through an animal. It happened to me before. I just told the guy to leave the poor dog alone, because I wanted to talk to a person, not an animal. He just looked at me shocked and I was so confused at the time, I didn't know why he reacted this way. " She laughs .
Even trough the dark time she lives in right now, she still can laugh and smile about the simplest things, she must be really strong.
"I see, you had your share with people already." I laugh now too, but her laughter immediately dies down and she looks all serious, yet scared.
I need to know what's wrong with her...
"Are you ok ?" I ask her with genuinely concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine. A memory just popped up, but I'm ok." She smiled again, but this time it's fake, I can tell.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No, you don't need this burden, it's not your fight, it's mine, I just have to live with it as good as I can."
"It wouldn't be burden for me."
She gives me the And-why-the-hell-would-I-believe-you-look
"I promise it wouldn't be a burden. I actually don't have to do anything for the next few weeks, so I'm all free right now."
"Well, I guess it's worth a try..."
