painted in the purples of
hidden deceit
to reel me in,
to catch me,
Like a fish,
tempted by the promise of a worm,
i grabbed your hooks
and now,
i stay in your lies,
unable to untether my skin
without ripping myself off
some days, even now,
still hopelessly hoping
that may be the next day
you will remember it all -
remember your
old promises
but, you,
you have no time for
old promises,
you are too busy in making new,
improved promises
that will soon become
Old.
because,
you shed your promises
like a snake skin
& wear new skin with more unintended promises!
