CHAPTER ZERO;PREFACE

***

STEPPING OFF THE PLANE, Aurora Rose Swan and Isabella Swan — or Rory and Bella as they preferred —are not surprised to see that the small airport in Port Angeles is basically deserted.

The thing that did surprise the twins however, is the fact that they see Charlie Swan leaning against a pillar, arms crossed waiting for them — rather than being late.

"Dad!"

Smiling widely, Charlie's eldest daughter jumps into his awaiting arms, wrapping her arms around his neck and squeezing tightly.

"I missed you, kiddo!"

Charlie squeezes his daughter tightly before letting her go.

Bella Swan trudges up awkwardly, pulling along her sisters forgotten suitcase. Rory smiles apologetically and grabs it from her struggling hands.

"Good to see you, Charlie."

Rory winces slightly at the awkward father-daughter exchange. Charlie gives Bella a one-armed hug and is suddenly taking the twins suitcases — leaving them with just their carry ons.

It wasn't a secret that Rory and Charlie have an easier relationship then he does with his youngest child.

Bella prefers to be living somewhere sunny with their mom, Renee than living in a dreary small town with thier father.

The only reason Bella decided to make this change is because she felt guilty.

The twins stepfather, Phil travels a lot for his job — too much if you asked Rory — and Renee would stay home with her daughters but they could tell it upset their mom to be away from Phil for so long.

So they made the decision to move in with their dad in the small town of Forks, Washington.

Rory Swan was on board with the idea the moment it was brought up. She never liked living in Arizona, she much preferred the rain over the sun. Considering she always seems to be warm.

The trio make their way out in the crisp air of Port Angeles — Rory spotting Charlie's police cruiser quickly.

"Shotgun!"
