As soon as Dongmyeong had finished his sentence, Youngjo turned around and made eye contact with me again. He then looked at Dongmyeong and motioned us over.
We all sat down on the floor and Youngjo spread out a bunch of papers in front of us. "All right. We got the song approved. Keonhee, Gunmin, Dongju, and Hwanwoong split the parts the best you can. I can help if you need anything. Leedo, rap parts are already split. Makes life easy."
I smiled, understanding that entirely. The rap parts were always pre-split for us, especially since there were not a lot of rap parts in girl group songs that I could find. Leedo got up and motioned Dongmyeong over to show him something on the piano in the corner. The vocal line went and crowded around a pile of the sheets, talking out parts.
That left Youngjo and me.
I could tell he'd been curious about me the whole time but as a leader, especially in a kpop group, there were always new observers, cameramen, and instructors. You had to finish your work and talk to the others after (unless spoken to first by an authority). It wasn't a rule, it was just common courtesy in the company, and really anywhere else.
Either way, Youngjo took the chance now to address me, while everyone else was distracted. "Dongju and CEO told me you'd be coming. Rival (y/n)?"
I nodded, "You are correct... My dear rival Youngjo," I gave him a confident look, winking and sticking up my nose, to which he smiled just the slightest bit, turning up one corner of his mouth.
For some reason, I already felt comfortable with him. And it seemed that it was the same way for him. He had relaxed and was leaning back onto his hands, looking at me. I dropped my hands and sat forward in my crisscross, body parallel to the ground. It was a stretch I normally did while reading or watching something, elbows supporting my head.
I turned to him, "Your group seems pretty cool, got any clue when your gonna be able to debut?"
He shook his head, "CEO won't say anything." I laughed, "same, he's like, 'you'll get there and I'll let you know' it's so annoying"
Youngjo blew air through his nose. "he tells me the same thing" shaking his head he added, "what a little fox, yeesh"
We talked a little longer and then the vocal line came and sat back down, their parts figured out. Youngjo called out to Leedo who came over and sat down, grabbing a copy of the lyrics.
Dongmyeong came over and tugged at my sleeve, a signal that it was time to go. I got up through another stretch and waved to the RBW Boyz, grabbing my jacket and bag and following Dongmyeong out the door. SeoulHeart and MAS had practice later in the day, so I decided to warm up a little.
Finding a smaller dance room, I dropped off my stuff and Dongmyeong followed, sitting down at the piano. I put on my dance shoes and started my stretches. Dongmyeong practiced his piano until I was finished and then took a break, watching me switch shoes back into my sneakers.
The twins were always interested in my gymnastics because it was a world they never really understood. After working with gymnasts on his survival shows, Dongmyeong had taken more interest in the sport. He watched as I did a few cartwheels and backbends to start. "can you teach me a cartwheel?" I nodded, "sure, let me try one thing first and then you're in." he smiled widely in agreement. I went to one corner of the room and held my breath, running and performing an ariel into a back handspring.
Dongmyeong pulled out his phone and jumped up from the piano bench. "Do that again! I wanna record it so you can see what it looks like!" I jogged back over to the corner and looked over at the boy. He held up his phone and three fingers. 3.2.1 he dropped down his fingers. I ran and performed the stunt again, Dongmyeong cheering me on. When I finished, I shot a smirk at the camera, and Dongmyeong panned the camera to the mirror, showing himself holding the camera and held up a heart.
Stopping the video, he walked towards the middle of the room and I met him halfway, putting my arms around him in a side hug, watching the video over his shoulder.
As we finished watching the video, the door opened and Cya trotted in. He came over towards us and I attacked him with a hug. Cya was someone who I considered to be like a little child, someone who loved skinship and cute things. I snuggled into his neck and he stroked my hair.
A lot of people in the company, especially my girls, had even thought that Cya and I were together at the beginning, since we both loved skinship. Even though they knew we weren't now, I still got teased about it sometimes. Especially by our maknae, the other rapper, who was his age, and was quite jealous of me. Part of me wanted to ship them together but I chose not to, not wanting to cause a distraction from our training.
"So I heard that you visited the other boys today..." Cya started, looking at me as I pulled away.
I nodded happily and started telling him about my experience. I saved meeting my "enemy" until last, describing him just as I had before. Dongmyeong and Cya both laughed.
I cocked my head, confused. Dongmyeong explained, "as you get to know him, his personality is quite the opposite, he's actually really energetic -"
Cya interrupted, "and kinda cute too"
Dongmyeong laughed, "What are you? Gay?"
