Chapter 27 Home Sweet Home

Two Months Later

After our honeymoon Taron and I have spent every minute at our new home. He asked to have a break with me and Audrey before he starts any new projects. Audrey is now six months old and she is a hand full. She is crawling now, she can say ma and da. Taron has spoiled her, anytime she crawls over to him he immediately picks her up and kisses her to death. Hearing her little laugh melts my heart.
"You do know shes going to be heart broken when your not here"
"I know she will which is why, I think I'm going to make it in my contracts now if I am to film you and Audrey can come see me as much as you want"
"Taron you know most studios won't allow that. We would be too much of a distraction for you. Plus it would be hard to have a baby on a movie set"
"Good thing we dont have to worry about that right now I haven't been offered any roles yet"
"I wonder why? I mean Rocketman was amazing and that showed how talented you are. Those directors are crazy not to want you" he pulls me into him.
"Just give it time beautiful" he kisses my forehead. I'm worried that Taron staying out of the spotlight the last few months had taken him off the radar for a new film. I know he loves me, and he wants to spend as much time with us as he can but I also know how much he loves his career. The door bell rings I tell Taron I will get it while he puts Audrey down for her afternoon nap. I open the door and its Karen.
"Karen it's so great to see you" I hug her and invite her inside. "Is taron home for me to speak to him?"
"Yeah hes just putting Audrey down for her afternoon nap. Is something wrong?" "No I just need him to make a decision" "what do you mean a decision?" "Hes been offered ten different roles and he won't give me a answer" "what? How long has this been going on?" "Most of these roles was offered to him before your wedding. Most of the studios has been willing to wait but its been three months, I'm afraid if he doesn't respond he may not get opportunities like this again. Did he not tell you?" "No he didn't" "Katie I'm sorry I assumed he told you" Taron enters the room now "Karen it's good to see you" "I'm just gonna leave you two alone for a minute. Taron Audrey is asleep right?" "Yeah she is you dont have to go Katie whatever Karen needs to tell me you should hear it too" "no it's ok I'm gonna go to the barn for a little bit" I walk out of the house and head to the barn. I sit down on a bale of hay across from Belles stall. She pokes her head out and I pet her. As I am petting her I think about what Karen told me. Why hasn't he told me about his role offers he usually tells me everything. A few minutes go by and I decide to go back inside to check on Audrey. As I walk by the living room I see Taron is still talking to Karen and I can see by the look on his face hes getting frustrated. I go into Audrey's room and shes sound asleep. I decided to go into the kitchen next and have myself a snack. I sit on the kitchen counter with my jar of peanut butter. Taron comes in
"Okay what's wrong?" "What do you mean? I'm fine" "Katie I know you are a emotional eater, you only sit on the kitchen counter with a jar of peanut butter when your upset" I give him a look then I finally cave in. "When was you going to tell me about your role offers" "I'm guessing Karen told you" "what I'm wondering is why didnt you" "I know I should have told you babe but most of the offers isnt what I'm looking for" "taron please dont tell me your only saying no because of me and Audrey." "Is it so bad that I want to spend time with my family" "no but taron these opportunities won't be there forever, another young actor will come along and take them away from you" "what if I wanted to stay home with you and Audrey. Maybe I'm done being famous maybe I want to be normal with you" "taron you cant give up your career for me and Audrey. You promised me you wouldnt change your career because of me when we got together. You have millions of fans taron, you cant let them down." He comes over and hugs me "Katie you and Audrey are my world, I dont want to be away from you to long" "taron we knew we would be apart, but you do remember when we are apart we grow as a couple" he kisses me softly "how did I get so lucky to have such a supportive and caring wife" "you picked a southern belle it's in the criteria" he laughs and picks me up from the kitchen counter. "Now you still mad at me, or can I put away the peanut butter" "I don't know you did lie to me for months I think I still need it" I try to reach for peanut butter and he teases me "oh come on you know you cant stay mad at me forever" I give him a little pout face and he hugs me tightly. "I'm sorry Katie I love you" "i love you to taron just please promise you won't lie to me anymore" "I promise. Just come here" he picks me up and takes me off the counter. He hugs me tightly and kisses my forehead. "I dont know what I'd do if you stayed mad at me" "lucky for you I'm so forgiving. Now tell me about the offers you have" "how about I just  show them to you" he takes me into the office, and pulls up a list of film offers. All of them are leading roles which didnt suprise me since the success of Rocketman I knew he would get more offers like this. I suggested to him to keep doing different things, this will make him stand out and show people he can be versatile. He then shows me copies of scripts for us to read together. "Thank you taron. This is what I want I want to help you and I hope you know that by now" "I know you do and your my biggest supporter I'm sorry I hurt you. From now on I will include you in everything" I lean over and kiss him. As I kiss him Audrey's baby monitor goes off and shes woke up from her nap. "I'll get her you, go ahead and call Karen with your decision." He kisses me one last time. "I won't stay away from home long, I promise"
