Erica stood in the back room of the Doughnut shop and watched and listened carefully as Carla StMarie, the head baker, explained all the ins and outs of decorating the various kinds of doughnuts.
It was her third day on the job and already the Greg, the supervisor had threatened to give her a write up for being late her first and second day.
"You are literally ten steps from the back door, why were you late?" He had exclaimed. When Erica's response was a scowl and to shove past him, he had reached out to smack her ass but had caught himself before he actually made contact. "You wouldn't dare!" She had challenged him. His response was "No, you are right. But if this happens again, you will get a wright up. Tomorrow I expect you in at opening to make up for your tardy days. I am not going to put up with this and if you think my friends will if you get that receptionist position, you have another thing coming!" He had warned then went off to help customers at the front.
Erica was happy that it was finally lunch. She walked over to the section of the counter near the water cooler and checked to see if the bowl of 'refused' doughnuts (broken or over cooked) had anything. It was empty. She sighed and poured herself some water. "Hungry, Puppet?" Carla asked as she glazed some chocolate doughnuts with a fudge sauce "Starving." Erica grinned "You've done well today, let me buy you lunch." Carla smiled at her and Erica grinned "Really?" She was practically jumping with excitement. She had basically been surviving off of quarter candy machines the past two days. "No problem. Just step in for me and help finish the last few trays of doughnuts. You remember what to do, right?" Carla asked and Erica nodded then washed up and gloved up and went to work. She was so caught up in her work that she didn't notice the other trays wer not the chocolate doughnuts and she put chocolate glaze and sprinkles on the Apple Fritters, old fashioned and bear claws.
She only realized her mistake when she heard Greg's harsh "Erica! My office, NOW!"

Brian was irritated that he couldn't find the right Outback where the beautiful and feisty girl had been living. He decided to take a break and stop for coffee and doughnuts.
He was disappointed that there had been no hits on the Wanted add, then again "Wanted: Playful and Adventurous Female" didn't really sound like a receptionist position.
He walked into David's Doughnuts to see a sniffling young woman with red puffy eyes standing in front of his buddy Greg who was lecturing her about not paying attention.
At first he didn't recognize her until she glanced his way. His gave her a sympathetic smile and then sank down in a chair and waited.
The conversation ended with Greg sending her on a thirty minute lunch.
Once he and Greg were alone, Greg grabbed a black coffee and an apple Fritters knowing that's what Brian would order, and placed them on the table in front of Brian and sank into the chair opposite him. "So, that's the girl you told Cole and I about?" Brian asked after sipping his coffee "Yup, Erica Jones. I think if introduced to it slowly, she'd do good for the group." Greg smiled and then smirked, "Actually, I almost reddened her cute little ass yesterday for being late. She's parked 10 steps from our backdoor and comes in 15 minutes late her first day and twenty yesterday. Mind you, she's in training. Her shift starts at 10am. She should already be awake at that time. Heh!" He shook his head with a humorless laugh and then added "She thinks I'm younger than her and doesn't want the take orders from me. She'll be surprised to learn I'm 5 years older than her." He grinned and Brian laughed. "Yup, she will." He sipped his coffee and inhaled his doughnut then stood up "I'll put the advertisment on her windshield tonight and see if we get a response. This will be fun if we do. God I hope she applies. I can't wait to play with her." Brian gave a wide grin and left the doughnut shop.
