The Congregation

The church service was great. The best part was when I began to feel the presence of the participation spirit. The congregation was lesser than the last time I had came here---when I was twelve.

I'm fourteen, about to turn fifteen in May. The Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE)awaits on the 10th of June, this year. As a qualified candidate of the exam, I'm supposed to be at home studying. Somewhat, here am I, amongst a congregation of adults.

The church doesn't have a class range for teenagers. And so far, I've only seen two teenagers--- One, a girl amongst the elderly members--- the other, behind the drums waving randomly. I recognised him. He's from the neighbourhood. He said 'what's up' to me this morning. I had expected 'good morning' from such a decent looking boy. I guess he was just dancing to the tunes of the society.
