"AUBREY, WAKE UP"

I was woken up to someone shaking me. They started shaking me even harder, causing me to groan. "What?" I said, sitting up in bed and rubbing my eyes. "We gotta go to Pop's. Hurry up and get dressed." Jughead said, before leaving, not giving me time to object or protest. I groaned and got up to change.

"I can't do this favor for you, whatever it is. If I have to pay for you helping my dad-" Jughead said. We were now in the diner, sitting in a booth across from the one and only, Penny Peabody. "He needs more help, that's why I called." She began. "What do you mean?" I questioned, narrowing my eyes at her. "FP got in a little accident with some Ghoulies in the prison showers the other day." She said. "Oh my god," Jug said. "He's in the infirmary now."
She stated. "Is he okay?" Jughead questioned. "Well they messed up that pretty face of his. The Ghoulies wanna blood payback for the deal you and that Northsider made with Sheriff Keller, got all their higher-ups locked away." She said, causing me to turn my head to Jug and slowly exhale. "That wasn't...-" "What are we able to do?" I interjected. "To get him out." "For that you would need money. Rich people? Rich people don't sit in jail. Money greases the wheels of justice." Penny said, picking at her food. "I have eighteen dollars to my name." He said. "And I have five." I added, feeling the bill in my pocket. "Well then maybe we should think of this favor as a job, right? Just a one-time delivery. You just pick up a crate on the Southside, deliver it to an address in Greendale. That's it." She suggested.

"And what's in the crate?" I asked, leaning forward, resting my forearms on the table. "Let's say, um, pancake mix." She said. "Penny I'm not gonna be your drug-runner." He said, whispering. "Of course not. You're gonna be my transportation advisor. Or should I say, y'all are." Penny said, pointing her fork at both of us, causing a scoff to leave our lips. "Do this and I'll use your cut of the cash for your dad's case. I'll see what we can do about getting him an early release." She said.

Jughead looked over at me for what I'm assuming was my opinion. I nodded my head once as a sign of approval. "Okay. Okay. We'll do it." He said quickly. "Okay good kids. Now you just gotta out of there by midnight cuz you don't wanna be in Greendale after midnight, trust me. And, um, this crate, it's not gonna fit on your bike. Can you get a car?" Penny asked.

"Aubrey, you can go back to the trailer, and I'll ask Archie to borrow his dad's pickup," Jug demanded.

We were outside of Pop's after Penny just left. "Okay, but come right back and be careful." I said. "M'kay. I'll see you back at the house."
