(Your POV)
I, Choi Soohyun (that's you), am officially now in my first year of highschool. I'm going to study in XX Highschool, a well-known school in South Korea. Only the richest, most talented, and most intelligent people can study there.
I packed up my things and stuffed my phone into my pocket. I plugged in my earphones and started listening to songs to drown out the outside world. I hopped into the car and fell asleep. By the time I woke up, we had arrived in our new house. I got out of the car and looked around inside. It was big but not as big as our house back in Daegu.
"Soohyun-ah!" My mom called from outside the house. "Your room is the last room in the second floor. I'll have the maids bring your clothes and things inside, okay?"
"Ne~" I said and made my way to the room at the end of the hall. I opened the light brown door. Inside, the color of the room was white and there was a huge walk-in closet. To my right, there was a queen-sized bed and on the opposite end of it, there was a desk. There were a couple of shelves and drawers for me to put my stuff in. There was also a balcony. There was a table and two chairs. That was perfect if I wanted peaceful time by myself.
When the maids got in, I started putting my stuff in their respective places. I spent all afternoon organizing my room and cleaning. I finished by 6 PM, just in time to get dinner. I ate with my mom, dad and older twin brother, Choi Hansol.
After that, we both went up and went to our rooms. I sat down on my desk and turned on my laptop to watch a few videos (mostly cat videos) when Hansol came in.
"Oppa," I said. "What are you doing here?"
"Okay first of all, call me Vernon. It's cooler," he said. "Second of all, you're room is waaaaayy bigger than mine."
"Duh, I have way more stuff than you," I said, turning back to my laptop. "And you know eomma hates it when I don't call you 'oppa.' Even if I was literally born seconds after you."
Hansol just laid down on my bed and played on his phone. We're pretty close and he doesn't like being alone. He gets bored really easily. Hansol and I are opposites. I like really big spaces and buying so much stuff. He just wants a room that's just the perfect size and he doesn't like having too much stuff around him. He's a social butterfly, and I am a loner. I don't really like having much people around me. Something happened to me back in middle school--
"Hey," Hansol called. "Where are we studying again?"
"XX Highschool," I answered, not looking back at him.
"Are we in the same class?" Hansol asked.
"I'm not sure," I said, slightly tilting my head. "I think so."
"Okay, you know I hate leaving you alone," he said, his voice in a serious tone. "Especially after what happened back in middle school."
"Awwwe," I said, finally turning around to look at him. "What a caring older brother," I said sarcastically.
"Duh," he chuckled.
Eventually, we both had to go to sleep.
---
I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I took a bath and brushed my teeth. I put on my new school uniform and grabbed my bag. I went downstairs and saw my brother already eating with my parents. I was running a bit late I guess. After we finished our breakfast, we got into our car and the driver drove us to school.
I was kinda nervous at first. We went to the auditorium and the principal started his speech and welcomed the new students. Hansol fell asleep and I listened. After he finished his speech, the students got up and started looking for their classrooms. Hansol and I were classmates and we found our classroom.
We sat down beside each other. I silently started sketching and Hansol started listening to music. People were chatting and laughing. I guess they knew each other from their previous schools. I don't want to see anyone from my old school. I don't want to deal with them.
A few girls started to approach us. Because of Hansol, of course.
"You can speak Korean right?" One girl said, in perfect English.
"Yeah," Hansol said, taking out one earphone.
"You guys seem close, were you friends before?" Another girl asked me.
"Actually, he's my twin," I smiled a bit.
"Ahhh, makes sense," the girls started talking among themselves.
"I'm Jung Eunha," a cute girl with short hair held her hand out to me. We shook hands.
"I'm Park Jihyo," a girl big pretty eyes said. I also shook her hand. "You guys must be half American, you're so pretty."
I blushed. "I'm Choi Soohyun."
"Eunha and I have known each other since middle school. Where were you from?" Jihyo asked.
"Oh, um," I smiled. "I'm from Daegu? We just moved here recently."
"Oh I see," Eunha said. "You wanna go with us around Seoul this Saturday?"
"Um.." I was a bit hesitant.
"Come on~ It'll be fun I swear," Eunha lightly pulled my arm.
"Okay, okay, I'll go," I said.
"Yes!" Eunha and Jihyo said.
Just then, the teacher arrived and everyone rushed to their seats. Eunha sat in front of Hansol and me and Jihyo sat beside her.
"Okay settle down," our teacher said.
"My name is Lee Seokmin," our teacher said as he wrote down his name on the board. "I will be your homeroom teacher and Math teacher."
He then proceeded to talk about how we weren't in middle any more and that we were all grown up.
"Okay then," he said. "Why don't all of you introduce yourselves one by one?"
The first person stood up, said her name and then bowed. We clapped, and so on. It soon became my turn.
"Hello, I'm Choi Soohyun. I transferred here from Daegu. I hope we get along well," I said, not really smiling. I bowed and took my seat.
"Hello, I'm Choi Hansol. I'm Soohyun's older twin," he said and bowed.
"Okay, that's everyone," then he frowned. "Wait... where is Cha Eunwoo..?"
Just then, the door opened wide and a person came in, visibly exhausted. "I'm sorry I'm late," he said, slowly walking to the empty seat beside me. "I'm Cha Eunwoo, nice to meet you."
He sat down, looked at me, and winked.
Oh boy.
It's gonna be a long year.
