Darkness greeted me when we reached the basement. Each of them took their respective place. Feeling a bit out of placed, I sat down next to Omi on the couch in front of the television. The room was filled with static-y sound when Manx turned on the television and played the video.

There he was, face unknown to us, or at least to my colleagues at this point in time. He gave salvation and a chance for retribution to four lost souls. The one who by giving missions to his assassins, he aims to clean the world of corruption, greed, wrath, and of Takatori’s influence. A man named Persia.

“Weiβ, you have a new mission.” Persia announced.

Faces of little children flooded the screen. Different color and races, some are merely an infant but none are older than a toddler.

“There were 485 reported cases of missing children just this year. An underground consortium kidnaps children from hospitals and parks. They then sell it to the dark occult group called Swator. This group would harvest the organs from the children and sell them to rich people to lengthen their life. It was a well-known legend among the rich that eating infants’ organs are the way to live a longer life. Your target, the head of the kidnapping group: Mories Yokomozawa and his right hand man Gabon Judas. For Swator, a man named Kikkonakori was confirmed the leader. Hunters of the night, deny these dark beasts their tomorrow.”

The light clicked on the same time the video ended. I flinched with the sudden light then my eyes begins to water. My mind was still filled of the smiling pictures of those little kids. What would have been their future if they weren't kidnapped and eaten for gluttonous greed of the rich people? I could only imagine the pain and suffering their parents have to go through. The pain my family had to go through when I was kidnapped. I could only imagine.

"Are you all in?" Manx asked the group. No one responded so she took it as a silent yes and started handing out an envelope to everyone.

"Ly-chan, why are you crying?" Omi asked in concern.

The others all turned to look at me. I quickly wiped my tears. This is not the best first impression to leave if I’m determined to be an assassin. This will be a big blow on my tough girl image I'm trying to create.

“I was just carried away by my emotion. I’m all right.” I told them.

“Good then, here!” Manx handed me an envelope.

I took it and looked inside. It was the file about the target on this mission.

“Ah, Manx, why do I get one? You haven’t asked for my answer yet.” I tried handing the envelope back but she just looked at it.

“You being here tonight, that’s an answer I needed. You are already a part of this group the moment you've stepped in and sat down to watch the video.” She explained.

I believe she is right. I wouldn’t be here in the first place if I wasn’t committed in joining them. I would probably be in my room cowering and crying myself to sleep again like a coward I used to be.

“Well then I will leave the rest to all of you.” She walked out of the room, the clunking sounds of her heels echoed as she ascend the stairs.

I felt the uneasiness swell around us. The four boys are not psych to have me; I know that for a fact. They don’t need to voice it out; I could see it in their eyes. However, I won’t let it hold me back. I’ve made up my mind, I will do whatever it takes to finish my role in here and get back to the real world—the world where I came from.

“So, how do we do this?” I asked them tapping the envelope on my head, giving them a smile as if this is a norm for me.

Youji rose from his seat and sat at the small space left on the couch next to me. He put his arm over my shoulder as if to console me and with his fingers he gave my shoulder a squeeze. “Are you really sure you’re ready for this? Your life will be on the line here, you know?”
