Makoto never intended to be a florist. But it wasn't too bad. And plus, he's not one to complain about something that is kind of making his life better. The only thing that really gets him however, is the stench the soil gives off at the most unnecessary times.

A sigh escapes from Makoto's mouth. “It's pretty slow today, don't you think?” he asks the blond boy sitting on the chair next to him. He looks over to the honey haired boy and notices him nodding off to sleep. “Nagisaaa! You don't want to get in trouble again, do you?” Makoto says while snickering.

Nagisa responds with a quiet mumble but nothing more. This was probably his millionth time trying to get away with sleeping on the job. But no one can blame him, with finals coming up, it obviously means large consumptions of coffee and sleepless nights due to studying. Just looking at him makes anyone aww on the inside because of his sweet baby face. But Nagisa is no baby! He is a fighter! A strong soldier! A winner! A 1st placer! Well, at least that's what he thinks. Really, he's just a high-school student working part time at a flower shop who likes boys.

Makoto walks quietly towards him and slowly reaches his hand to pinch Nagisa's nose.

It takes him about 10 seconds until he finally realises he can't breathe, making him gasp. He looked up to see a laughing Makoto and just stares at him for 5 seconds until he decided to laugh hysterically as well. “Makotooo you idiot! I could've died!” Nagisa says in between giggles. This was probably Nagisa's- in fact, everyone's favourite thing about Makoto.

Makoto is pretty much a gentle giant. He just seems to always have a way to make people around him so happy. He has a mother and a father, and two younger siblings who all love him very dearly and will always be proud of their son/brother even through the hardest times. He swears, costumers always come to the flower shop just to see him, which he isn't upset about but at times he does feel a bit weird about it.

After about a minute of settling down, the door bell rang making Makoto and Nagisa face the entrance of the shop. In comes a dark haired boy with no expression who immediately inspects the entire area. Behind him rushes in a red haired guy with a toothy grin.

“Oh god the smell. So uh, what'd you want Haru?” The shark boy asks this so called “Haru”.

“Carnations. Red ones.” The dark haired boy said stiffly. He didn't exactly seem like a cold character, but he also didn't seem like an innocent shy school girl.

Makoto pipes in, “Oh! We got those!” He rushes to the wall on his left and picks up a bunch of beautiful red carnations out of a green bucket. “Are these okay?” He smiles an adorable smile. He steps towards the two to give them a better look. As Makoto looks up and down the boy in front of him, he sees him clutching a book in a way that clearly shows the name on the spine. “To Kill a Mockingbird...” Makoto accidentally says out loud.

Haru shot his head up with pursed lips and slightly wide eyes. He then awkwardly messes around with his book which doesn't exactly help his embarrassment, clearly creating a red shade across his face. “Yeah...” He says quietly.

“Sorry! I didn't mean to butt in your privacy- I think that's what I did- it's just, that's a great book.” Makoto says with his most genuine smile. No response came out of anyone except a muffled laughter escaping from shark boy. “So uh, these carnations will do right?” He says after that brief awkward silence.

“Yes.” Haru says still with his red painted cheeks.

They all walk towards the counter and Makoto carefully places the carnations on it. “That'll be $30.00 please. Oh by the way, are these a gift? I can wrap them up nicely if they are.” He says while holding a red ribbon and pink plastic. He patiently waits for an answer from the dark haired boy as he kind of gets the idea that he's a bit socially awkward, but instead shark boy butts in and answers for him,
