Dear Diary,

So, it turns out I actually am going to the spring formal on Wednesday. I wasn't going to go at first because I have so much speech therapy and I wanna get as much in as humanly possible before homecoming. Why homecoming? Well someone's planning to ask me and I want to be able to answer properly. I never really cared much for dating and boys, I always denied everyone that tried to ask me out. I'm just not into relationships but... something's changing.

Third period. Mr. Washington. Algebra.

I hate math. I'm good at it, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it.

After the other day on the rooftop with Kai, things have been very weird between us. We don't have this class together, which gives me more things to think about and less to distract me. And now that I think about it, things might just get weirder.

I don't know what happened but, after that twenty minutes together, I was almost dedicated to spending more time with him. I'm pretty sure I'm just trying to make it up to him for hurting his feeling but, I'm not sure. I am sure about one thing-

-after that day, his feelings for me have intensified.

But, I'm okay with that now. What could possibly go wrong?

"Miss Aoki".

I flutter my eyelashes and look up at the voice next to me. It's Mr. Washington.

"Are you okay, Miss Aoki?"

"Oh! Yes, just tired".

"Well, maybe getting up and walking around will help you some. Go to the board and solve the algebraic expression".

I sigh and stand up, a little wobbly from sitting for so long. I grab to dry erase marker and proceed to solve the expression. After a few moments;

"x equals 14, sir", I say dropping the marker back onto his desk and walking back to my seat. A few of the kids snicker and smile, some are just purely impressed, others don't care.

I sit down and put my head down.

One of my earbuds is yanked out of my ear and I look up to glare at who did it, but my expression relaxes when I see it's just Kaito.

"Hey Sage", he says smiling at me. He seems nervous, I think he wants to tell me something.

"Hi Kai".

"So", he starts, scratching the back of his neck. "Are you going to the spring formal?"

"Yep."

"Do you", he looks around as if he doesn't want anyone to hear, "have a date..by chance"?

"No. No one's asked".

"Well, I'm asking", he gets on one knee and takes a medium sized box out of his pocket. It's too big to be a ring box but it's too wide to be a necklace box. I look down at him, a little shocked and a little worried.

"Sage Lilian Aoki, will you go to the spring formal with me?"

People are recording, taking pictures, and watching. I feel very pressured and scared now. People look scared too as he waits for my answer, probably thinking I'm going to say no.

"What's in the box", I ask cautiously?

He opens the box and there's a corsage sitting there looking at pretty. I smile.

"It's edible by the way, I know you have a thing for food so... I bought you an edible flower", he says chuckling. I giggle at the gesture.

"So? Will you go to the dance with me", he asks nervously. I roll my eyes, "duh. Of course".

He smiles, slides to corsage onto my wrist and stands up, obviously excited.

"This is great", he starts, "I can't wait to see what you're gonna wear. Should we have a theme? What colors were you thinking?"

I put my finger up to his lips, shushing him. "Kai, calm down. All that, later."

He smiles and walks with me down the hall, smiling proudly while I'm blushing like a damn fool. Ugh, boys are only useful to themselves.
