Chapter 4: Escape Artists

Nagato and Konan speedily jumped from tree to tree through the forest with Naruto being carried by Konan. Nagato had sensed a group of A ranked ninjas coming towards them. They were quickly moving on when Nagato spoke "Definitely ANBU, Konan-chan." Konan nodded and Naruto asked "Kaa-chan, where are we going?" Konan smiled at the blonde in her arms and said "Far Far away from the mean bad guys, Naru-chan." The blonde smiled back at her to be safe in his mother's arms. "Konan! Their gaining on us!"...

Weasel and his team bolted when they sensed three chakras. Weasel was anxious to say the less. Weasel sighed, he was Itachi Uchiha and he had to keep his cool. But, he loved Naruto too much as Kushina took care of him whenever his mother would go out and both of them would play poker together. Itachi smiled at the fond memories but he had a duty now.

Inu was second in command, he spoke "Wolf, Weasel and Turtle. I'll fall back while you three stay in front." The three nodded. Inu thought about Naruto Uzumaki, his sensei's son. Kakashi Hatake was different than Inu, but the silver haired sighed, he failed his sensei. Before Nagato and Konan adopted Naruto, Sandaime-sama asked him but he acted violently.....

Hiruzen asked the Last Hatake "Kakashi-kun, I have a request." Kakashi nodded, Hiruzen knew that Kakashi was grieving. He had partially moved on his teammates death. But his sensei and Kushina's death gave a huge blow to Kakashi. "Would you like to adopt Naruto-kun?" The clan head of the Sarutobi clan got up and opened a door in his office revealing a crib. Kakashi stood there shocked. He looked at the baby boy. He slightly smiled under his mask. The third hokage said "His name's Naruto Uzumaki." Kakashi looked into the blue ocean eyes and the baby stared at his. Kakashi took a step back in fear. Looking deeply he could see the Kyuubi. He could only see anger and hatred. Kakashi gritted his teeth and held a kunai in his hand. He spoke "S-Sandaime-sama, how could you protect this monster! Who killed the Yondaime and Lady Kushina." Hiruzen frowned and then Kakashi said "I will take revenge of sensei's death." He rushed in to kill Naruto but ANBU appeared and restrained Sharingan No Kakashi. Hiruzen looked sad and disappointed. Hiruzen spoke "ANBU take Kakashi away and do not allow him to be near Naruto-kun." The ANBU nodded and took Kakashi away. Hiruzen sighed and looked at the baby and muttered "Naruto-kun, I hope you get adopted soon."

Kakashi was frowning and glaring at the Hokage Tower.

Inu winced and thought if Konan told Naruto about this incident then the Uzumaki would hate him.

A chakra flared and they sped forward in matter of no time. The grouped pounced on the trio. Making Nagato and Konan fall on the ground, Naruto cried as he grazed his knees.

Nagato's rinnegan flared and then Weasel whispered "T-The Rinnegan." Wolf spoke "Stop. Nagato, Konan and Naruto, the Sandaime Hokage has ordered your return. If you don't follow these orders, then we will use lethal force."

"Shinra Tensei!"

Wolf was pushed onto the tree, groaning as the tree fell down. Weasel had enough.

"Fire Release: Fireball Jutsu."

Nagato and Konan dodged the fireball at them while Naruto was safely kept on one side.

Konan had a tick mark on her face,

"Paper Shurikens!"

Shurikens flew at the ANBU, one of them grazed Turtle and he bled profusely.

"Summoning no jutsu!"

The snake boss had appeared, The ANBU gulped looking at Manda. The giant snake whispered "Dinner..." They shuddered and Inu exclaimed

"Summoning No Jutsu!"

Inu smirked under his mask as Bull and Pakkun appeared. Inu gave a signal and Bull nodded.

Bull stomped his feet and the ground shook, Pakkun jumped in the air and shouted "Shadow clone no jutsu!" Thousands of Pakkun appeared and dived straight at Manda, who just sweat dropped at the moment and digged through the ground disappearing.

Pakkun's clones disappeared and sniffed the air and then Manda jumped through where Pakkun stood, dissipating Pakkun into smoke. Bull barked and charged but was tail whipped by Manda.

Paper shurikens flew through the air , injuring Weasel and Wolf. Turtle exclaimed

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bomb"

The Jutsu burnt away most of the origami of Konan who felt a lot of pain and dropped down to the ground.

Nagato gritted his teeth

"Planetary Devastation!"

Giant chunks of the Earth broke off as the ANBU flew high in the sky, Inu the closest to Nagato, shouted

"Chidori!"

Stabbing the Uzumaki who fell down to the ground, the ANBU gulped as they met their fate. They were smashed by the chunk into a ball and thrown off like a meteor up into the sky far away from the trio.

Konan slowly walked over to Nagato and her hand had a green aura. She healed up Nagato and then healed the graze of Naruto.

She smiled brightly at Nagato who smiled in return. Konan carried an unconscious Naruto and walked off with the red haired to freedom.......

The ball of Earth landed in front of the gates of Konoha, the ANBU came out slowly and fell unconscious.

A Chunin rushed into the office of the Sandaime and spoke "S-Sandaime-sama, Team 12 failed to bring the trio." Sandaime sighed and nodded.

He pitied himself and then his old teammate said

"Now Would you listen to me, Hiruzen."

"Never in a million years, Danzo."

Danzo grimaced and left, he whispered into an ANBU's ear "Register the three into the bingo book." The ANBU hesitantly nodded......
