Chapter 11: should I stick with the truth or not

Maples pov:

"I'm glad you told him" John says as I walk out of the door he opens for me once I joined the pack

"Nearly everything" I say, "I mean I told him about the rogue king killing my pack but I haven't told him about Dean yet" I sigh

"Just tell him, it was your parents doing not yours" johns pushes

"All to respect sir, but when it comes to the pack you have no fucking clue how deceiving we were" I state before turning around and walking up the stairs to see the kids walking down, "go into the alphas study so you can joking the pack" I tell them as they just nod and walk to his study

"They look tired." Mike comments as he walks towards me with Haley on his trail

"Yeah we...uhh...talked a lot last night" I lie

"Talked? Yeah I guess everyone's heart jumps when someone says 'talked' I mean it doesn't mean your lying" mike says sarcastically

"Oooo caught out" snickers Haley as we both glare at her direction making stop snickering and put her hands up in surrender before walking off, "geesh harsh crowd. I hear her mumble

"It's not like that" I sigh once Haley leaves

"I mean I did just lie but I was training my kids" I sigh

"What's the big deal about that?" Mike shrugs, "I'm your mate you need to tell the truth." He adds

"Ok...you want the truth I'll tell you what I'm up for telling you about him" I say, scratching awkwardly at my neck as I remember the necklace is in my pocket now along with the knife.

"Ok" he nods as we walk to the couch and I pull out the necklace

"It was an arranged marriage" I begin, "my parents said it would be good for my pack and of I didn't I would be disrespecting my family just like my brother" I croak at the memory of my brothers lifeless body

"Before I tell you about this, I might as well tell you the side of my pack which no one knows but betas and alphas" I sigh

"My ahh brother ran away with his mate who was an omega, her name was Lavender, she was a lovely girl. I even looked up to her but when my parents told him he was to become alpha because he was older than me and he could not have an omega nor a mate because it makes you weak he said no and ran. I know real heroic but also it left him vulnerable with his mate just like they said. They caught her after him though, he gave himself up and my parents locked him up. A day later they brought lavender in. I was only 10 at the time and I new what they were going to do." I sigh as I tighten my hand around the necklace.

"The day after they put them in the cages, they did it so they couldn't touch or talk but sense each other making it like a scab that is really itchy but impossible to sooth. They brought them out and made the whole pack come and watch they were all in joy to watch what will happen even my parents" I say spitting parents out as if it was contagious, "then what happened next was one of the most horrifying things that happened they killed him." I croak, "no only kill, I mean really killed. They tortured him by using the weakness my parents warned him of. First the leg." I croak, "they cut off her leg, and when he asked for mercy they made the punishment worse" I say running a shaky hand through my hair, "t-they raped her, infringe of everyone and the worst part was they cheered as she screamed for my brothers help but he couldn't move they wouldn't let him, he couldn't look away, nothing. My dad held my head and whispered in my ear when they cut off her other limbs and left her to bleed to death. My father said to me 'never let your weakness came in between your mate because all they do is interfere with the most important thing in a pack, strength'. That's when they finally cracked my brothers skull with a hammer and it was my mum who killed him. Before the fires the rogue king set, they left his and lavenders body there as a reminder of how bad it is to cross your pack." I sigh as I look up and see Mike horrified face
