Merit froze in her place, feeling nothing but the pain of the unexpected betrayal. The air around her choked her, the sight of the monster in front of her brought back the memories she had been trying to erase for the past five years, it was like pulling something right out of her heart.

Her legs felt meters deep into the ground, the empty room felt like a castle, now that their eyes were fixed at each other, Merit felt that castle suddenly closing on her, crushing her between it's walls like a fragile being, that silence didn't last for long.

"Filth. That's what you're, Merit. Always standing at the same point, never changing" The black hats agent spoke his venomous words that poisoned the air Merit breathed, she felt the rush of anger strengthen her weakened bones, she felt a strong feeling of an internal flame burst within her veins, this rush of anger only meant she'd act without a thought to silence him.

"Filth?! You dare to calm me filth you piece of shit?!" Her eyes reddened with anger as she tightened her grip ready to attack, but he was Standing then, slightly overjoyed of the sight of her going mad.

"You know, Merit, I was terribly sad when I was dismissed from chasing you. I told myself that, I was helping the world to get rid of a small dot that caused great chaos, and now after all of that effort, they just let go of you? Ugh, I was disappointed, you were ambitious, and I hated people with ambitions." The black hats agent said keeping that wicked smirk on his pale face.

"But look at you now! Lonely, betrayed, ambition-less and almost useless! It's an eye-pleasure, yet, fuels me even more to get rid of you, to be honest, I don't think it's a job anymore." He continued.

"You know what, I just noticed something." Merit said, with a slight change in her tone implying that the anger has lessened and so is her fear.

"Huh?"

"You don't have eyebrows"

"Excuse me?!"

"You don't have eyelashes either, damn, you're ugly as hell!"

"You speak words of bravery and strength! But let me see how long will that dirty mouth stand against my flamethrower" The black hats agent was easily intimated by the slightly odd remark Merit had to say in the middle of his hatred babbling, he took out the flame thrower he had on his back and in seconds, the room was on fire.

"You're gonna kill both of us, you idiot!!!" Merit screamed as she evaded the flames eating this small room, inspecting a way out within this mess.

His hideous smile, the familiar old one, was painted on his pale face again. The ecstasy of his viciousness was apparent on his dark features, it was a painting of destruction, it was an image of the devil himself. He was spraying fire like a perfume on a dress, Merit was swaying around with the smoke blinding her eyes, it was only when she saw the window she realized it was the only way out as the door behind her was locked from the outside once she got in.

"Ciao, asshole" Merit said, jumping off the glassy window, knowing that the only risk with the breaking of the glass since they were only on the second floor.

Once Merit jumped off the window, she luckily managed to land on a truck carrying mattresses, but the unfortunate part, it wasn't moving.

She quickly jumped off of it and the smoke broke out the room like a tsunami, with it was the evil grinning agent preparing to jump off after her, but Merit wasn't gonna let that happen.

Merit felt the excitement rush within her veins within seconds. It was the thrill of being chased into an adventure that made her feel able to move. She ran into the alley facing the hotel and saw an opportunity to flee the agent who was already on the ground. She was lucky to have her Chaser's equipment with her including the small machine on her wrist that allowed her to jump across roofs, without thinking she used it to climb all the way to the roof of the building knowing that once she was close to the sky, she had the upper hand.
