Kehlani's POV

-
When he knocked on my front door, I couldn't help but run over to it.

"Hey," I said while holding the door open before he walked in, but he just stared at me.

I had cocked my head to the side to see what he was looking at. I soon realized it was most likely my red eyes and the tear making its way down my cheek.

He finally walked in, stopping once again. I saw him look at the wall where the knife was still sticking out. Seeing it made me think of the situation I was in.

I couldn't help but get angry again so I slammed the front door shut.

He turned around, eyebrows raised at me. I looked down in a sheepish manner, blushing, as I felt his gaze on me longer than what I wanted it to be. Or at least at the time.

I gestered to the couch as my clue to sit down, which he understood, watching as he sat down before he began talking to me.

"Do you want to talk or a movie?"

"The first one please," I sighed.

"Okay so, I'm going to ask the most obvious question," he said with a playful tone.

"Go on,"

"Is this about Carter," I nodded, "Alright so tell me, what exactly happened?"

I took a deep breath, trying to put the words together in my mind before I actually began to speak.

"Okay so, basically—," I was cut off when I heard a laugh from the boy beside me. "Tristen, what the fuck is funny?" It was a little harsh, but I was already on edge with the events that happened prior to his arrival.

"Nothing, nothing." He continued to laugh a little.

"No, I wanna know, now."

"It's just that, before you start telling a story, you say "So basically." and it's just cute to me." I laughed a little at his excuse but continued on with what I was saying.

"Wait, do you want to know a brief version or a—,"
I didn't get to finish my sentence, yet again, since he quickly told me the whole story of what he assumed was how I found out about the pictures.

Although it was kind of annoying, I nodded and huffed not really ready to explain the recent events. For some reason, I didn't want to scare him away with a story of me sounding like a complete maniac.

"Basically, after school, there was this stupid party Carter wanted to go to. He asked if I wanted to go, but I chose not to go with him because we have that stupid test coming up, so I wanted to study. I trusted him to not go since I wasn't going, because I would've done the same thing for him. My trust ended up being thrown back into my face because he still went," I paused waiting for him to take the little bit of information in.

I watched him look at me intently with his beautiful eyes. I swear I had never felt so many butterflies in my stomach before this moment, but I chose to ignore them, considering I had to continue my story.

"I was still mad at what happened earlier but the studying kept me distracted until I kept hearing my phone go off from snap notifications. I checked them," I sucked in air as I felt myself getting frustrated. "I-I opened my messages and saw pictures of him. Him and another girl. They were dancing and he was holding her in the way he would hold me, which, to be completely honest, fucked me up. In the last pictures, it looked like the girl and him were almost kissing," I had to close my eyes because my frustration was turning into anger. I felt his hand rub against my back.
