Kehlani's POV
-
We were together, but only as friends. It was the best friends lover cliché at first...
__It was freshman year when we met. That's when I barely paid attention to him because I was blinded by his best friend. The person who I had thought I was in love, but quickly realized that was not the case.
All I remember was how he watched me walk into the room and how our short interactions were always flirty, on his part, though he knew I was with his best friend.
It was like any other day. I walked into a class full of people I really didn't know until, I spotted him sitting with two people I've probably seen before, just never spoken to.
I sighed to myself as I walked over to them. I watched as Carter stood up out of his chair too quickly, almost knocking it over.
I started to giggle but it was cut short once he had pulled me close to him.
"Guys I would like you to meet my girlfriend Kehlani. Kehlani meet my bestest friends Niesha and Tristan," Carter introduced me.
Carter liked to use words that weren't actually proper words. That list included the infamous 'bestest.'
I had smiled as two sets of eyes landed on me. I just waved, flashing them a closed mouth smile, as we both sat down.
The girl, who I assumed to be Niesha, looked at me weirdly before smiling back at me.
"Hey, uh, we've met before but we don't need to bring that up." She said making my thoughts abruptly run wild.
I squinted at her trying to remember what she was talking about but soon I remember that she was the girl who I let poke my dimples and that shit hurt.
Yeah, poke my dimples. It was weird as hell while it happened but many people adored the two deep dents that graced both of my cheeks. As it was weird, it wasn't necessarily...uncommon, I guess you could say.
I smiled, "I remember you have really pointy fingers." I remarked with a slight giggle. A smile leaving the girl's lips apologizing, as the boys looked at us in confusion.
While we were busy randezvouing the two guys who sat next to us and watched us weirdly, the blond guy, with the mesmerizing blue eyes, had grunted while holding his hand in front of me.
I took it and looked him dead in the eye. We stared at each other for a brief minute before he started talking, shaking my hand gently.
"Hey I'm Tristan and I am so surprised Carter actually got a nice girl." The boy, Tristan, has said looking beside me, to glance at my boyfriend.
I cocked my head to the side, "What do you mean," I asked genuinely confused. He shrugged
"Well you know his ex was really trash." I watched as he looked at Tristan with a side eye.
I cocked my head to the side with the look of confusion once again.
"What did she do?"
"Oh well she-" Tristan's words were cut off with a groan escaping his lips, do to the other male punching him in his stomach.
I gasped as Niesha slapped his arm.
"Why the fuck did you do that?" He looked at us with innocent eyes.
"I was just playing around with him he knows it's all fun and games don't you Tristan?" Tristan who was leaning over in obvious pain raised his thumb and half-ass smiled.
