The Next Day (7:15 a.m)
My alarm rang and I got up faster than usual. I only had 4 hrs of sleep, but I really didn’t care cuz I was feeling awesome. I got my clothes and went to the bathroom to get ready for school.
It was 7:30 by the time I was dressed and ready for school. Wow, first time in history that I might actually be on time for school. I was wearing my favorite one-shoulder red striped-black hoddie and my Old Navy blue skinny jeans with black Converse. I took the out the money I saved from my part-time job and counted the amount needed for my hospital fees and food expenses. Which left about 183,763 dollars and 52 cents in cash. I left the house at around 7:50 after I made everyone breakfast, as I thought I’m gonna be late.
I walked to the bus stop and took out my Metro. I stared at the birds in the sky and flowers on the ground out of boredom. The bus came at 8:00 and I already knew that I would be at least 15-25 minutes late. I took a seat near the back, I scanned the bus and there were only about 8-10 people riding. The bus usually took about 10 minutes to get Cardozo High.
The bus stopped at the stop just before Cardozo and a fimaliar-ish kid came running up the street. I was surprised to see that it was Eric and immediately put my hood to cover my face as much as possible. Eric took the seat next to me and started finishing up his homework. Don’t do you’re homework on the bus you idiot.
I saw that he was having trouble with Mr. Ferro’s math homework. I sighed and took out my math homework and left it on the seat before I got up to leave. Out of the corner on my eye I saw Eric look at me and smile taking my homework and copying it.
I was late by 10 minutes cuz of the bus and I didn’t care if I was even later. I hid in the usual ally and stretched. My head didn’t hurt as much so I was only there for about a minute. When I was about to walk out of the ally I was shocked to see Eric staring at me from the front of the ally.
We just stared at each other for a while until I broke contact and walked past him, hoping that he didn’t see anything. I was hoping that he would cross the street or something but he was following me closely. I decide to test him, I stopped and checked his shadow to see if he followed, he did, I ran, he ran, I stopped short and turned around to face Eric.
“What?” I asked with attitude.
“Ummmm is this yours’?” he asked taking out my math homework I left earlier.
“No” I lied bluntly.
“Oh, are you sure?” he asked stupidly.
I stayed silent and turned around walking toward Cardozo.
He was still standing there, stupidly staring at me by the time I turned the corner. Idiot. It was about 8:15 when I walked in the school. I walked to Ms. Lisp’s room on the second floor with Eric a feet behind me.
I walked into class and handed in my late pass. I sat in my usual seat in the back and stared out the window. Class was boring and so was the rest of the day. I didn’t pay much attention to any of my classes except for gym. I went to all my classes and didn’t skip any of them so school felt like it been a week since I last went home. All of my classes were long and boring. I had photographic memory so I didn’t really have to pay attention in class. I was about to run home when the bell rang but Eric caught me at the bust stop.
“Wait,” Eric said grabbing my arm before I got on the bus.
I didn’t reply or turn around.
“I need to talk to you,”
I still didn’t reply.
“Come on say something, the faster you answer my questions the faster you can leave,” he said almost whining.
