As Mrs. Grayson took you into her home she called her son to reveal himself as she needed to have him meet someone. The young boy with his black bowl cut and pointed ears came with a serious/nature atmosphere in which surrounded him. Both Spock and you studied one another already judging one another.

"Mother, who is this?"

"Spock, this is Y/N. Now, she just lost her home planet and our family was assigned to take her into our care."

"How long will she remain here?"

"We don't know. Most likely until she can go out on her own."

Spock only nodded and disappeared into what you assumed to be his room. Obviously, he wasn't a fan of strangers, or he just didn't care enough to interact with you. The next few years were spent quietly ignoring each other's prescence. Not that you didn't try to talk to him. He would occasionally acknowledge things you say, but that was it. You thought that you would make fast friends because of how you were treated in school, bullied for being different. In the end, you were barely even acquaintances.

Years Later

Eventually, it came time for you and Spock to leave and go to different academies. Spock would go to the Vulcan Science Academy, and you would go to Starfleet Academy. Hopefully, to never see each other again. You heard knocking on the door as you finished filling out your files for Starfleet. Amanda answered the door, and Spock strode in.
"Mother, I will not be going to the Vulcan Science Academy. After much thought, I have decided to go to Starfleet Academy."
Your jaw dropped. After spending years with Spock, you finally had the chance to escape his insufferable obsession with all things logical, and he was messing it up.

The next morning you boarded a ship with Spock to go to Starfleet. You sat next to Spock, careful to not invade his personal space. It was an awkward ride as something deep down told you to try and converse, question why he wanted to join Starfleet, but you swallowed your questions and sat in your seat quietly.

The ship landed roughly, making everyone aboard jump. The door opened, and the voice of your new commander was heard.

"Welcome to Starfleet Academy, cadets."
