Casey's POV

After Brett can back from the call I went back into my office to do more paperwork. Not long after Sylvie walked back into my office. I sat down and continued on with my paperwork. Sylvie just sat quietly on my bunk quietly. I sat for about half an hour before I turned around and saw Sylvie asleep on my bunk. I bit up and pulled off her boots and laid a blanket over her. I then turned back to my desk and sat down and went of with my paperwork.

Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 96. Apartment fire 45th Walbash corner.

Hearing my company being called after the bells I look over at Brett and see her stir a little.

"Hey, hey. It's Ambo 96's call. Go back to sleep I will see you when j get back. Ok, " I said to her as she looked at me whilst still half asleep. She gave me a little nod and smile. I gave her a kiss in her head as I turned and walked out. Reaching the ap floor I started to jog. I slipped off my boots and put my feet into the other boots pulling up my pants and pulling my suspenders over my shoulders before grabbing my jacket and hopping into the front seat. With that, we were off.

Pulling up to the apartment complex. There were flames licking up the walls where the windows had blown out and there were residents all standing on the front path.

"Is there anyone else in there, "I ask a resident. They shake their head but I was not so sure.

" chief everyone's out but going to do a final search, "  I say into my radio. I hear a go-ahead from him

"Kidd. Your coming with me, " I tell her as I start masking up. We finish masking up and head in. Checking each apartment we soon came to the last one.

"All clear chief coming out,"  I tell him over my radio. As i was taking the last few steps out I heard a creak and a beam fell down catching the back of my leg. I fell down with the beam. After laying there for a few seconds I was able to pull myself free and stumble out. They had called 61 to the scene whilst I was inside. Brett came running over once I came out. She grabbed my arm and supported my weight as I limped over to the back of the open Ambo where Foster was waiting with the gurney.

She and Brett helped me on to the gurney. Brett then helped me take off my turnout gear before she cut open my right pant leg to reveal my already swollen leg. Foster pushed some pain meds whilst Brett stabilised my leg. They then loaded me into the back of the ambo whilst Brett jumped into the back and Foster got into the front and drove off to Med.

"I'm fine. It will probably be just a bruise, " I told her.

"No, it won't just be a bruise. It looks like you have a broken leg so you need to get it checked out, " she told me grabbing my hand. I just let my head fall back onto the gurney. She just continued to hold my hand. We soon pulled up to med and they pulled me out and wheeled me into Med.

"This is Matthew Casey, 29 year's old, a beam fell onto his leg. Stabilised at the scene. 5mg of morphine administered on the scene, " she told Maggie as they rolled me into the ER. They then took me into a treatment room where they order X-rays and CT scans. They then came to the conclusion that it was broken they then put a cast on and I was on my way. I was able to pick up a ride on 61 on the way back.

Pulling up to the station I got out of the front seat and hobbled my way in on my crutches with Brett telling me to go straight to my office and lay down. She then walked in a little bit later with some Advil and a glass of water. She made me take them telling me the morphine I was given at the hospital was going to wear off soon. Within a few minutes, i was out like a light. After I woke up from my nap it was the end of the shift so Sylvie helped me get changed into my casual clothes and we were on our way home. Since we both drove to work and I had broken my leg I could not drive so we left my truck at the house and took her car. Once we got to my apartment she helped me up the stairs and into the apartment and helped me sit down.
