New Tomorrow

Chapter 6

Brett's POV

After what had happened between Casey and I, I was really dreading going into the firehouse for shift tomorrow. That night i went to bed early knowing I would have to get up early for shift.

The next morning I woke up to see I had a text from Casy telling me about his doctor's appointment. I just sent back a thumbs up because we weren't really on speaking terms. I then had a shower and headed to the firehouse. Arriving I got changed and then put my phone on the charge in Casey's office. I then walked into the common room, because I was early I decided to make breakfast for everyone. I went over to the fridge and pulled out the back and eggs. Not long after I started Foster came in and started to make some toast. By the time we were done, everyone was here. I went and got Chief Boden and we all sat down and ate breakfast. After breakfast, Cruz and Otis offered to do the dishes.

I went back to Casey's and got my phone as I was walking out i saw a picture that he had there. It was a picture of us when we first started dating. We looked so happy and carefree. That was when I thought to myself that i had kind of been a jerk to him. He can't help that he got hurt and he can't help that he can't do much which I get is frustrating and he lets his anger out on me. I also realised that his paperwork was missing meaning he was here. I go to Chief Boden realising I need to make this right. explain everything to him and he gives me some time off.

I quickly run out to my car hopping in I make my way to his apartment. Pulling up I run inside and to his apartment.

I knock frantically on the door

"Matt, I know you're in there. Can you open the door? Come on Matt please I know you can hear me. I need to talk to you, "

"Oh so now you decide you want to talk to me, " he says once he opened the door. I walk in which makes him shut the door and follow me.

"Matt, I'm sorry for the way I acted. I should on not left and we should have figured it out. I was just really annoyed when you lashed out at me for being late. That was unavoidable, with people being late my phone dying and all of that but I shouldn't have given you the cold shoulder, " I told home giving him a sympathetic look

"And I should have not blamed you for being late and not letting you know. I am just getting frustrated with everything right now. I can't work I can nearly do anything right now and I took my frustration out on you and I should have not done that. I'm sorry, " he told me whilst holding my hand.

"So are we good?" I asked him hoping for a good answer. He gave me a nod and a smile. I smiled back and gave him a kiss.

"So I explained everything to Chief and also kind of lied and said you were in a lot of pain and you texted me when you got back from dropping off your paperwork telling me how much lain you are in and he gave me the rest of shift off so I could look after you, so what do you want to do, "I asked him.

"God I love you. The fact you would lie to our chief to get out of shift is amazing. Let's watch and movie. I just want to cuddle with you right now. I have missed you cuddles, " he replied with a smile on his face. We then put on a movie and cuddled for the rest of the night. At the end of the 5th movie I looked and I saw Matt asleep. I quietly woke him up and we both went to bed. I was happy that we made up and i think overall it made our relationship stronger. Tonight I went to sleep happy and I think Matt did too.
