RACHEL P.O.V.

It was Friday evening when I first decided to text him. (He told me to text him Tuesday.) I honestly didn't know what to say. I think I spent hours typing something and then deleting it. I finally just sent 'hi'. Even I thought it was trash but it was already sent so I placed my phone down and put on some music.
Minutes later, my music was interrupted by the notification of a text.
I looked at my phone.
ANNOYING (Cute) JERK:Hey. Glad you finally got around to texting me.
CUTE NERDY GIRL: Oh hush. Just be glad I texted at all.
ANNOYING (Cute) JERK: You know you wanted to . . .😏
CUTE NERDY GIRL: I'm not going to admit to that, but I won't argue.
ANNOYING (Cute) JERK: Can't believe I'm about to tell you this but, you're cute.
I blush and respond quickly.
CUTE NERDY GIRL: I could say the same.
ANNOYING (Cute) JERK: I knew you liked me! 😁☺️
CUTE NERDY GIRL: I didn't say that.
He didn't respond for a few minutes.
ANNOYING (Cute) JERK: Truth or dare? 😉
CUTE NERDY GIRL: Dare.
I challenge him. He responds quickly.
ANNOYING (Cute) JERK: I dare you to give me a day to try to make you fall in love with me.
I was surprised. He wanted me to fall in love with him? No. He just wanted to break my heart. But . . . NO! But he was so . . .
CUTE NERDY GIRL: Yes.
I didn't type the words! I swear I didn't but it was suddenly there and . . . and then my doorbell rang.
I threw my phone on the bed and jogged doesn't the stairs two steps at a time until I reached the door. I had a big smile plastered on my face.
I opened the door and saw the cutest boy ever: my cousin.
Okay, he is the cutest relative of mine.
"Hey Nate!" I yell and open my arms.
He runs into them and hugs me with his little five-year-old arms.
I see his mom behind him.
"Can you watch Nathan for me? I'm sorry it's last minute but I have this last minute meeting and -"
"Yes, I'll gladly watch him. He can stay as long as he wants."
"You're a lifesaver. Thanks sweetheart!" She kisses my cheek and scurries back to her car, driving off quickly.
"I wanna play Legos!"
I hated legos with a passion. But, I walked up the stairs to my bedroom and pulled his box out and sat him in front of the box.
"There you go buddy," I say, ruffling his hair.
I picked my phone back up.
I had a missed call from Chase.
I called him back and he answered.
"Hello?"
"Why'd you call me?"
"Where'd you go?"
I look out my window and see him looking at me.
"You little sneak. You're watching me!" I laugh. "I went to get my cousin."
"Oh. How long will he be there?"
I shrug. "As long as he wants."
Chase groans and I see his shoulders fall from my window.
"You can still come over. Help me babysit this dude. My brother's still out. Don't know when he'll be back."
I honestly think he hung up after I said the first sentence.
Then I saw him climbing out of his window and getting ready to leap from his to mine.
"Chase don't!" I yell but he makes it and holds the window sill, hoisting himself into my room.
"See," he beams. "You're already worried about me."
I blush and Nathan asks "Who are you?"
Chase kneels down in front of Nathan and his wide eyes.
"I'm Rachel's boyfriend. It's nice to meet you little dude."
Nathan smiles and goes back to building lego blocks.
I smile as Chase looks back up at me with a small smile and a bright shine in his eyes.
"You're falling," he smirks at me and I loose my look.
"Shut up!" I yell at him and push him. He falls back into my bed and I grab my phone so he doesn't fall on it but we both just end up falling on it, me on top of him.
"You want me in bed too? Jeez, this is going faster than I thought."
I shove his chest and snatch my phone, standing again.
"Oh c'mon! That was funny!" He laughs, pulling me by my waist towards him.
I look into his eyes and trail a finger from his eyebrow to his jawline.
I lean in to kiss him and he closes his eyes, leaning in too.
At the last minute, I pull away from him and his grasp and sit on the floor behind Nathan.
"You're falling too!" I giggled as he realized what I did and sat down next to me.
He leaned in and smelled my hair.
"You smell like strawberries and coconuts. I hope I get to smell that more often. . ." He trails off.
  I shrug. "Maybe."
His lips travel to my neck and I softly push him away. I didn't want to. His lips felt exactly like I dreamed they would. They were so soft and caring but also rough and strong.
"C'mon Rache," he whines and I give him a look.
"Rache? Seriously?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Yeah. It's a bad nickname so when you find a bad nickname for me, you use that," he's grinning.
"Okay." I roll my eyes.
He pushes my hair over my shoulder and leans in again.
I press my hands against the floor, tilting my head back as I wait for his lips' arrival.
They don't come.
I look at Chase and he's looking at my chest, mid-way in kissing me.
I snap my fingers in front of his face and he blushes.
"Sorry."
I smile. "It's okay. However, it won't be okay if you don't kiss me," I threaten him and he pulls my hand, pulling my body towards him.
"Rachel look!" Nate days and I pull away from a pouting Chase to see Nate.
"What buddy?" I ask, smiling at him.
He points at the little car he made.
"Good job! Do you think you can make me a building?"
He thinks for a few seconds. "I'll try."
He goes back to his legos and Chase pulls me back towards him.
"You're very needy, you know that?" I say to him and he grins.
"I'm sure I am . . . towards you." He finishes and I smile, kissing the corner of his mouth.
"Did you know that you're a little brat?" He asks and I giggle.
"You still love me though, right?"
He grins down at me. "Yeah. I do."
He leans down and kisses my mouth, our lips moving in a tender sync.
His hands move over my body until they find where the want to be, one on my hip and the other on my back.
My hands are wrapped around his neck and they stay there, playing with the baby hairs at the back of his head.
"Uh guys?" I hear and Chase doesn't pull away so I pull away but our hands are still on each other.
  It was Nathan.
  "Yeah buddy?"
"Why are you doing that?" He asks, seeming really confused.
"Because we love each other very much," I say, not really knowing what to say.
"But you don't do that to me," he argues, sounding like he's about to cry.
"You only do this with someone who you love if you aren't related. But you and I are cousins so we can't do that," I try explaining to him.
I don't think he understands but he nods his head so I consider that a yes.
"He's so cute but maybe I should make you fall in love with me some other time," he laughs in my ear.
I smile at him and kiss his forehead like I would kiss Nathan.
"You little . . ." He doesn't finish his sentence because of Nathan so he smacks my leg lightly.
I laugh and wrap my legs around his waist, sitting in his lap.
"You're kinda clingy . . ." He whispers in my ear.
"I'm sorry. Do you not want me to be?" I ask, trying not to laugh.
"No!" He bursts out. "I me- no, no. I don't mind."
I giggle softly. He's such a dork. But he's also a player. And a bad boy. Is it really safe and healthy for me to fall in love with this boy? Or will he protect me with all his might and never let me down? I don't know and that's what I'm afraid of.
