Six and a half hours in (1:30AM)

Korey

All of our breath stops as we see shadows -- from a small room within the room -- gather at the floor. It's probably a bathroom and Ashton's sitting on what seems to be a stool.

We killed quite a bit of their pack downstairs, there just must be the chief and a few handimen with him. He's probably not blind, Ashton is obviously built and shouldn't be messed with when angry.

Calum and Michael are staring into one side of the doorframe while I, am sitting on the ground on the otherside. I look at my hands and feet infront of me, my gun to the side. I don't know if theres anthing I could do right now.

I fear, fear I might shout something too loud and faster than I can say hello bitches, they can pull their gun trigger on Ashton.

I lift a shaky hand and push little pieces of hair behind my ears. I'd tie it up but it wouldn't all reach it.

I turn to Calum and Michael, both are in a tight hug and silent tears running down their face.

"What do you think we do?" I ask and I sniffle. I start crying myself.

"I have an idea... b-but you're not going to like it." Calum stutters but tryings to keep his voice quiet and steady.

As soon as I look him in the eyes, I know exactly what he wants to do. He wants a diversion.

"Cal... There's other ways..." My voice trails. I'm not just doing this for Sid but myself and the rest of the boys and even himself. Calum is like a brother, no matter how much shit I put him through.

"Please." He wipes his now runny nose on his sleeve, ignoring the mucus and the blood now on his once white band shirt.

"What's you plan?" I insist, crossing my arms infront of my chest.

"You guys hide in that room over there." He points to the masterbedroom. "I'll scream, or something and run off." He takes a deep breath. He looks at his gun and grabs out more bullets, reloading his gun as quietly as possible.

I nod and tiptoe across the door opening. I go to Michael, quickly pulling both of them into a hug. I lift myself up and kiss Calum on the cheek softly before taking Michael's hand and pulling him towards the other room.

It's eerie, the silence. Mostly because it's unlike for any of us to shut up. It's unlike Michael to go on with a plan so easily.

I hear a gun shot and then heavy steps run down the stairs. I turn and wrap my arms around Michael's neck, letting out heavy steps.

When I said I wanted to Purge, I never expected anything like this. I never thought Karma would catch up and I just wanted to shoot a few rounds and head home for breakfast.

I never expected myself to be this close to losing my best friends.

Not shortly after, steps go in the direction that Calum ran in. Two or three off-sets of footsteps go down the stairs and away from up.

I pull away from Michael and compose myself, mostly flattening my shirt and lacing up my shoes.

Michael and I start heading into the room but we hear a shot. And another one, but of different sound.

I turn to Michael and I let out a sob. Michael takes a few steps down the stairs and his jaw drops.

"S'Luke." He says to me, quietly and I nearly scream. My sobs start to shake my body and I can't control the gun in my hand anymore.

"Why are you crying?" He comes racing up the stairs, taking my hands away from my face.

I give him a confused look.

"L-L-L-" I take a deep breath. "He's d-d-d"

"Oh no!" Michael shakes his hands infront of his face. "It was his gun. He shot the guy."

I just stare for a minute, my brain processing everything he's said. I stop and take another deep breathe. I pick up my gone from the floor and flip Michael off.

He chuckles and takes my hand as we head into the small room.

When we hit the doorway, I see Ashton tied to a dinning room chair. He has his face down but I can tell by the red on his shirt that he's been punched in the jaw.

I stomp on the ground, just loud enough to get his attention. He looks up happily but that goes away fast into panic. He starts shaking his head fast and nods his chin to something in the corner.

Before I can advance to go check, a scrawny kids come out infront of him with a gun. As though it was was in slow motion, I see Michael duck to the ground and I doge to right.

I raise my gun, my hands now steady and sure.

I need to save my friend

I need to do this.

Him before me.

We pull the trigger at the same time.
