"Well, Lucy dropped a bombshell." Gray broke the silence.

On the other hand, Natsu let out a soft, awkward chuckle from her reaction. "I don't get it. I thought you were okay with it."

"Yeah, I never was." Lucy was a straightforward person. If she feels something's wrong, she tells it almost immediately, unless it's about appearances. "Look, as much as I'm happy you're wanting to go out, I'd appreciate it more if you do it after summer."

"Why, do we have plans for summer?"

"That's never going to happen if you guys don't commit. And besides, if you bring Lisanna to our supposedly, a camping trip, and sure, you two will laugh and talk and create memories, but what if you two break up after that? What's going to happen to the memory? our very first camping trip, ruined."

Natsu leaned against his seat, folding his arms across his chest, scoffing. "What makes you so sure we're gonna break up?"

Levy, despite staying quiet between the right, had a hunch: Lucy was jealous.

"I'm not. But hypothetically." Lucy was expecting him to give it up and drop anytime soon, as she assumed the result would be, seeing how he's been responding.

"Hypothetically," Levy took the chance to cut in. "You're jealous, aren't you?" All eyes darted on the blonde; this time, waiting to hear her response. "Because you like Natsu? I suppose?"

The man got all cocky, sweeping his hair back with a smirk forming on his face. Staring directly at Lucy. "You could've just told me sooner. Want to go out with me?"

"No thanks." She declined the offer on the spot, resisting the idea of entertaining their theory. "Then again, I may be the only exaggerating member here. I'm looking out for all of us. We don't want anyone to get hurt, after all."

The man nodded, scratching the back of his head. "You're right." As always. "Don't hate me for this, but I still want to go out with her. I'm going to ask her before the camping trip."

"After." Lucy insisted.

"We're not going camping this break, trust me."

"You guys better tell me in advance so I could tell my parents about this," Levy went back to typing something on her phone as they let the bickering go on at center table.

"Gray?" Lucy called, causing the innocent to flinch. "Pick your side."

Natsu and Gray ended up staring at each other, as if to talk telepathically. Unamused, she was shaking her head at the terrible sight. "Let's decide by the coin." She pulled out from one of her pockets and flipped, catching it in the same hand. "Call!"

"Heads, I go for Lisanna. Tails," Natsu bit his lip as a pause. "..I won't."

The two of them closed their eyes as she slowly opened her hand, revealing heads. Natsu jumped for joy, giving Levy and Gray high fives for the success. Meanwhile, Lucy shrugged nonchalantly, confident this was going to start a vicious breakup. Ended up clapping along, instead.

"You’ll be regretting this soon."

Erza came back on time for dessert. She was smiling, her hair was a big mess from the wind, probably while she was running back here. As she was making herself comfortable in her seat, grabbing herself a fork to eat with, Levy started. "Sooo lovey-doveying with your boyfriend, huh?"

"What! No! I was .. I-I was.." Erza telepathically asked for help from Lucy, the only girl in this group who's knowledgeable of the situation.

Lucy butts in with, "She was planning a surpise party for Gray." She shrugs, the four of them now looking towards the incoming birthday boy. Suddenly, he found himself blushing at the thought.

"Aw, you guys," Gray immediately changed moods with a firm, "No."

"Okay, then." Erza didn't hesitate, which made Gray act up again.

"Wha— no, no, no! You were supposed to defend it a little. I mean, how often do people plan surprises for you?" He sat back down, folding his arms together across his chest, looking the other way.

After Lunch

“Welp, see you guys later.” Natsu took a left turn and gave Lucy the eye. “Especially you.”

Lucy waved him off and headed the other direction to go back to her room. Levy went along with her and Erza, well,

“I'm planting a garden.” Before anyone could reply, she had already ran away.

“Okay, now I know that's suspicious.” Gray furrowed his eyebrows at the thought of Erza being delicate with living things.

“That surprise party was just an excuse so Erza could still see her boyfriend— in secret.” Which shouldn't be the case anymore since the other three know what's going on. They've seen Jellal plenty of times, caught holding hands with their redhead friend.

“Alright, you kids go back,” Gray checks his time, sounding disappointed. “I have to do my dues.” Natsu would've laughed like the kid he was at the mention of doodoo.

Gray applied for a scholarship when he first came since he only had his Aunt Ul paying the bills and honestly, he didn't want to trouble her further with his expenses. The university funds his time and attention and while at that, he's still keeping his grades up, despite sleeping most of the time during discussions. He's amazing for managing his time right.

“Earth to Lucy?” Levy waved her hand in front of her.

"Sorry, I got distracted." A blush came out of the blue across her cheeks, her grip tightening on her bag straps.

Before Lucy came into the group, she encountered Gray first. She saw him sitting quietly in the library— sleeping, of course— but she was mesmerized by the way he looked that day. His black raven hair and how he politely apologizes to the librarian whenever he's caught. That's the second reason she comes to the uni's library often before. She didn't expect to be grouped up with them in the middle of her sightseeing.

"Anyway, you want to go grab milktea?"

Lucy found herself backing away a little. Levy avoids intaking sweets to concentrate academically. Claims they're her ultimate distraction. "Where's Levy and what have you done to her?"

"I'm serious. I'm just taking your advice. You're right, we do deserve to relax now."

Or so she thought.

"Correctly? What a baby boomer." Lucy snickered.

"I spoke too soon." Levy almost fainted mid-air from the new assignment.
