You were working at the local dust and weapons shop, a fresh hire after your grandpa Shopkeep had given you the job to help pay for your car. One hell of a good man, but he always smelled of noodles and dust and oddly dressed robbers; nonetheless he'd put you on the afternoon shift when students from Signal and Beacon would come by to stock up on dust, tune-up their weapons and buy parts along with various other things.
Fighting monsters and bad guys always seemed really interesting to you, but you simply didn't have the ability, in fact, you had a sort of disorder that hindered your ability to manifest your aura or semblance, thus you were confined to the life of a normal joe. It was at least fun to see the students come in, you'd even get to examine their weapons from time to time, you had one of your own, but you still loved seeing new ones, it was the closest you ever got to be to fighting Grimm. It was almost time for you to close up shop, but as you were about to leave the counter a girl a bit younger than you with a red cape burst through the glass doors, panting as she held her knees and folded over.
